The loss of a great SCCA member

Benny Dement was a great character, if you ever heard him announce an event you had to laugh. It is with great sorrow that we make this post. Benny, we will miss you! This email went out over Team.net earlier today

"Got a call this morning that the Solo community has lost a dear friend and close supporter. Benny Dement died at his Arkansas home Thursday night or Friday morning of an apparent heart attack.

RIP, "Fuzzy face!""

I also received  a call this morning with the sad news.  I am so fortunate to have known Benny.  He did Tech on my car at my first autocross, never once broke from the "English" accent.  I had the pleasure of his company at many AR, Midsouth and MS Region events.  I ran with him in July in Memphis, both of us in our Mod cars (Benny in CM, I in FM).  We were gridded togethor, so I had a great day, listening to Benny stories and jokes all day.  I will miss him.  

RIP Dr. Demento.

I talked to Benny at my last autox in Arkansas.  Hate to hear is gone.  He was one of the main people that got the Ark region going
