Re: Finger Lakes ProSolo, July 26-27

Hat's off to the FL region for a nicely-administered event.  I like all the National staff and I think they did their best.  But after running the doublecross and two dual course Pros already, I've concluded the single course Pro is just not there for excitement and this weekend was a disappointment.  I would recommend tossing the format altogether and instead using the far superior doublecross format at sites that cannot handle the dual course format.  I will only attend a Single Course Pro next year if I have no other realistic choices to get two Pros in.

Oh, yeah- I thought the course was a lot of fun.  good job!

thanks for all the kind words on the course.  i got a lot of compliments over the weekend and it really put my mind at ease.  i lost a lot of sleep obsessing over all the tiny little details.  i do a lot of our regional courses but this was my first national event course.  i owe a big thanks to Jim Garry who has taught me a lot over the last couple of years.

Cory, I think the biggest testament to the quality of the course is that I heard no complaints about it.  It's almost always true that you'll hear 10 complaints to 1 compliment, so by all measures, this was an excellent course.  Great job.

Soon to be in a kart.

The region puts on a hell of an event.

National Staff did great in keeping the event going.

Area was fantastic....as Reubens Barrichelo would say, beautiful and gorgeous.....

I think the jury is out on the Single course format for myself. I would need a tree event to really say I like it. I'll try it one more time next year.

     FWIW

     Aw shucks Embarrassed

The course was easy to follow, didn't do anything to suck fun, and although it appeared to be easy to figure out, I left alot of time out there.  My co-driver's best was a 45.4 and mine was a 45.6.  But I think there were 44s out there for my car (and if we got them, one of us would have won our class).  That's a good course.

    Finally saw the results!!

Congrats to all the Florida boys showing up and putting down great runs! Big props to Greg Hahn with the Challenge win, and Darrin squaring off with him in the final round.

I see at one point it was J Ruggles and Darrin battling out too! I should have stayed.

    Way to go guys!

Thanks everyone for the compliments -- it means a lot! This was only our second time hosting a national event and I'm glad we were able to pull it off successfully :D Thanks to all the region and out-of-region volunteers who really made it work. And with 194 entries, it was (I think) the biggest single-course Pro yet!

There were a few lost-and-found items, if you want to claim them, come to Divisionals next weekend!
