The Pager Alarm was installed later by a factory installer.

I'm not sure I know what a "Red line limiter" is, but if it's a rev limiter, I seem to recall the ACR's bumping off the limiter, when they were actually racing.  If so, it's not "all factory".  If I'm wrong, I apologize.

I got the tires to spin in 5TH GEAR in my old '93 Sentra SE-R, and I sold the car in 2001 for $5,000.  What would that be worth in 2008 Canadian?

Re: 1997 ACR Neon for Sale

This reminds me of that old Jon Lovitz character on SNL...yea, that's the ticket.  The Neon ACR gets 50mpg, that's the ticket.  And, its faster than a C6 Z06, yea...My uncle had an ACR that ran on water with the only emissions being beer.  He stored it in a keg and sold it on the corner for 5 bucks a pint.  My ACR actually cured global warming, yea, that's the ticket.  My girlfriend, Morgan Fairchild, once won the Canadian Grand Prix in the ACR.  She beat Alain Pro...no..Michael Schumacher, yea, that's the ticket..etc.

Stock Neon’s sell for $3000.00 and up here of course we are not in a recession and we don’t race lawn tractors while looking for a sponsor. The movie that seems to show racing for what it is in the States is the Ledged of Ricky Bobby.

They climb in behind the wheel and yell I’m goin fast now momma….

Seriously though. I think Ken is not saying his has a turbo. I think he's saying that other people thinks it has a turbo because it is so quick. Like others though, I have a hard time believing the gas mileage claim, especially if you're taking it up to 7500+RPM's and spinning tires in 3rd gear.

    Good luck with the sale.

No, he was TESTING everyone with the turbo comment!

David's Farm, that's right.  Canada.  "You ain't gonna drink and drive, are ya?"

     Yikes.

Your confusing vehicle speed limter with engine speed limiter (i.e. rev limiter).  Non-ACRs had a speed limiter that would kick in at 118mph due to the speed rating of the supplied tires.  ACRs did not have the speed limiter, but did still have a rev limiter.

Re: 1997 ACR Neon for Sale

yeah whatever.....I know about the engine speed limit and Rev limit being two different items however the spec sheet when I ordered it said different ,and I have had the tach at 8000 rpm, as for gas mileage we use it for company business and have to monitor gas mileage via a fuel log.

Remember there is 4.546 liters in a Canadian Gallon making our slightly larger in volume.

As for the price heres a link for one “today’s listing” for $3495.00 with 189,000km on it or aprox 119,000 miles….40,000 miles more than mine.

As for davids farm that’s London Ontario he is so close to the states he might as well be from Detroit. But even at that he’s missing the bleachers, cheerleads, hotdogs, bear, cheerleaders, and a sports network. I also didn’t see any decals on any of the equipment from sponsors.

As for this Cito guy he’s just a In-bread farm boy that gets all his facts via late night TV when his rabbit ears can pick up a bounced signal off the ionosphere.

As for slowSER the Nissan Sentra all I could find in the local area is a 94 XE heres the link while this is nowhere near the car you had you sold it to low because the XE is being sold for $2695.00

    Ken - ACR's had a rev limiter.  It's a documented fact.

If you hit 8k it's was due to a downshift over rev.  BTW, I wouldn't touch it since you've admitted to reving to 8k, which it's not designed for.

(And yes....the valves, springs, and keepers in my ACR were all replaced due to an over rev.)

You have to understand those cars aren't being "sold" for that price.  They are being "advertised" for that price.

No, silly, all 58 cars at the Neon Super Solo had a bad miss at ~7800rpm, causing them to misfire at the top of second gear at the end of the longest straight.

Duh.  If you'd all brought your build list and parts spec sheet to the dealership they'd have put the right plugs in or something.

Iain (remember when the cool kids unbolted their mufflers at the flange?  I'm glad that went out of vogue, talk about earsplitting, especially when they got to the rev limiter^H^H^H^H I mean high-rpm miss....)

lol you still have not seen our been around my car, and no not a down shift it was uphill on Grote RD in 2nd gear for those from Edmonton they know the road and it's very curvy the closest thing to a road course track we have.

You can criticize all you want the fact is you still don’t know the car because you have not been behind the wheel, so I don’t care how many races you won on what track or how many you sold third party you still aren’t talking about my car.

Dude, you are such an ass monkey.

Look, there are two options here.

#1, your car isn't a stock ACR, and you've modified it to have a higher redline &/or done some kinda power adder stuff &/or converted it to a hybrid to acheive your silly no rev limiter, quicker in the 1/4 than any other neon, and captain insano mpg claims.

    #2, you're making sh*t up.

Personally, I'm going with #2.  Perhaps its actually both of them, in which case you've modified the car _and_ you're making sh*t up.

Again, please take your ad someplace where people aren't familier with the Neon ACR package.
