Tri-State, Who is going to run in it?

I am posting this on all three of forums for the regions that run in the Tri-State.

My co-driver and I are about 90% sure we are not going to nationals this year, so I stated looking ahead to the next big event that I could run in. Which is the Tri-State. Before I go any further let's do a little math:

Run in Asher's F Stock Shelby

    Nationals Notes

Gas 120 4 tanks with me paying half

Tires 600 Half a set of tires

    Entry Fees 120

    Food 200

Hotel 150 Half of the hotel

    Total 1190

Run in STU in my M3

    Tri-State Notes

Gas 210 Gas for all 3 legs

Tires None needed Running on my old street tires

    Entry Fees 100

    Food 200

Hotel 75 One night in Newport and just catching one day of each of the other legs

    Total 585

It will cost me about the same money to run the Tri-State as it will to run at Nationals if I subtract the tires for the Shelby. Before I throw down that much coin, who is coming?

Here is a quick look at who is running in what class after a quick look at results in each of the regions:

    A Stock

    Trey Williams S2000

Jeremy Pohlman 2002 BMW M3 black

James Allen Porter 2000 Honda S2000 red

    B Stock

Whitt Demins 2007 Nissan 350z black

Nelson Ireson 2003 Nissan 350z Maron

Gary Reyonlds 1990 BMW M roadster blue

tyler Kvetko 2007 silver 350z silver

    C Stock

Paul Belote 2003 Toyota MR2 black

Norm Hardy 2000 Mazda Miata Green

    James Lee

    D Stock

    Haison Cao

    Skip Brunson

    Richard Main

    Matthew Irwin

    E Stock

    Steve Freeman

    Grey Cleveland

    Joe Cote

    Aaron Breitweiser

    nelson santos

    Mike Costello

So, there will probably not even be a field of 3 at any of the stops in any class.

If you are going to run in it, post up here with car and class. Some people will want to find a class they can run unopposed and other will try to move to a class with the best drivers.

If you have a link to the rules and last years winners please post that up. My understanding is that you have to run in 2 or the 3 legs but best I can tell there are 6 separate events ran over the course of 3 weekends with each of the regions hosting one of the weekends. I could not find any rules on any of the three regions web sites.

As far as the rules, unless it's changed since last year, you have to run in at least one event in each of the 3 regions and at least 4 events total.  You can choose to run more than 4, and your best 4 will be used to compute your standing.  In case of a tie, a fifth (or sixth event if necessary) would also be used as a tie break.

Hmm, I'll have to make that decision at a later date, once the other players in F-stock lay down their cars...

Unless, there is another FSAE team in the tri-state area. That could be interesting. Brian, your thoughts?

What, you don't want to win F-stock again Bell and not have your trophy 8 months later?

He just meant those are the people who run in each respective class in each of the three Tri-State regions, so they are the ones that could possibly be running Tri-State.
