    Matt,

It was a 95 foot slalom but each cone had a 55' wall before it. So you only had a 40' "hole" to fit through. But if you were attacking the back it was not an issue. It was pretty darn fast and certainly legal per the book.

Other way around, 95 foot with 40' walls and 55' holes.

    Thanks guys!!

I still can't believe it!!  and I still feel like I stole this one from Scott. Everything went right for Scott and Saturday, he was lucky and good!!. I was hoping to get to 3rd maybe 2nd on Sunday.  Then the only scenerio that could happen for me to win happened.  (1st run cone, 2nd conservative run, 3rd run rain) Scott, David and the DATS Racing bunch were the first to congratulate me, they are a first class bunch of guys!!  Looking forward to the Milwaukee Tour.

Des, did I read it right?  2000 Ford Escort in STX ???

I haven't chimed in here because I guess I finally came out of shock from the results of what happened.  Wes, as I tole you in person and on the phone, you deserved this win!  Sometimes, you're the windshield....sometimes, you're the bug.  I was both which sucked but oh well!

Officially, I am not gonna make it to Milwaukee (as much as I want to be there, but the wife and kids say vacation is way more important...the NERVE of them!)  Got alot of testing to do in the next 60 days for Topeka.  That will be the next time we will all get to play together.  Be advised all HS drivers....  I like you all, but I am coming for the title this year...pulling out all the stops.  No excuse for not doing it this year.... Man I sound like such an arrogant bastard, don't I?Big Smile

Good luck to everyone in Milwaukee...wish I could be there!

I'll be there in the Subaru to keep you honest.  This will be my last trip to nationals for a good while.

Where are you testing?  I have been looking for a good site that has similar pavement to nationals.  I was thinking Papa John's Stadium in Louisville would be a good one.

Papa Johns is VERY simliar to HPT....lots of off-line sand....but the grip is good.  I have plans to be at the event on July 20 (next weekend).  KYR puts on a decent event, mostly they get five runs and its a 40-50 second course....usually not PAX friendly, but fun to drive.  Come on up!  need a place to stay, I am an hour from PCJS.

We won't make it next weekend but we are seriously looking at the event on 8/10.  Maybe we will see you there.

I'd love to co-drive with you Shawn but a little to late to make the trip. Plus I've got to pay the taxes on the mini this week.

It was great fun and I hope everyone made it back home safely.

12 national events this year and 12 different winners, none of which are the defending national champ.  Pretty crazy!

    Re: Milwaukee Tour

Milwaukee was a blast! Even with the rain on Saturday. It was good to meet a bunch of you guys and hopefuly we can get a big group again in KC.  I can store 1 car at my house between KC and Nats and MIGHT be able to store one or two more at my folks house (have to check with them first).  If anyone is interested, let me know.

Congrats to Jimmy on the win!

    Re: Nationals 2008

National's this year is going to be fun.  I am signed up and IN!

If anyone is interested, I may have an open seat for the Civic in Topeka.  My co-driver may have a conflict with work that wouldn't allow him to go.  He obviously will have first dibs and regardless of the timing of his decision, if he can go, he gets the seat.  Not particularily interested in having a "tire warmer" for the car, I want someone who wants to compete for the title, the car is capable of it.  Must have experience!  PM me if interested and we can discuss the details.

Larry, that might be the issue right there. :)

I will hopefully have a working engine back in my coupe by then, but I would also be missing a local event that weekend. I think my wife, my budget, and my poor Saturn engines would all prefer to stay nearer home. I wouldn't mind some better competition, however.

    Re: Nationals 2008

How about a preview of Nationals?  The Kansas Region Divisional on Aug 2-3 will be using last year's courses (East for a Test & Tune, West both ways for the actual Divisional) at HPT. Although Ron would probably like to just surprise you guys in September. Big Smile

This was what happened at the last KC event (of course, Shawn wasn't there) http://kcrscca.org/solo/results/2008/event_5_2008_pax.htm

I think someone needs to make sure that Ron isn't driving an S-model. Smile

Interested in what?  Scott's co-drive offer, the divisional in Peru or the divisional in Topeka?

    on a side note....

I saw that Van entered the divisional in Topeka, that makes 4 HSers there, let's get some more signed up for that AND the KC National Tour, it's a Ron Williams designed course, and those are ALWAYS fun!  BTW, what day did HS run the West course last year?

That should be good for you since both your sponsors match.
