Re: Who's Coming to HS? Now at 35!

    a1rocketpilot:

Hey, I thought my Legacy was the land barge of HS!

I suppose I should probably introduce myself, even though at this stage, I have no National aspirations. A couple of you at the Atlanta Nat'l Tour might remember my white Subaru Legacy slipping and sliding everywhere, while making copious amounts of tire squeal. This is my first year competing, so please excuse my newbishness! I'm slowly (quickly?) working on driving my pants off and learning what this sport is all about. Unfortunately, I don't think my car will ever be up to actually being competitive, so I might as well just learn to drive for now! Scott, I remember talking to you at the Tour, sorry to hear about the injuries!

Hi Deech.  Thanks for all the well wishes, but the saga continues....  Unless parts come off National Backorder in the next week, I will be looking for a new car or co-drive.  I will know tomorrow what the scoop is.   They put it on an emergency status repair.  The car is in pieces right now, so I hope and pray they can have it ready.

PT seems ro be working somewhat.  We'll see how things are Friday after an MRI.

Re: Who's Coming to HS? Now at 37!

Got the car back from the dealer (who I bought it from) today.  They claimed it was fixed.  WRONG.  So, after talking to my NEW tech (who worked on my silver car all the time who works at a Honda dealer) it goes to him on Wednesday for the correct procedure.  He knows how and what to fix.  I will have the car ready to go for Topeka.  Thank heaven for friends!  Now, if I can just have my body ready to go by then, we will be ALL GOOD.

I thought the idea of a newer honda was so that it was more reliable than the saturn? Geeked

Haha just kidding...good luck with the car and yourself!

I did too, but this car has been more tempramental than the silver car.  However, I think this is the last of the things that could go wrong. (Knocks on the nearest piece of wood he can find)

Re: HS Field for Nat's the Deepest Ever!

You're premature. Ron Williams came back to win in KC, which I guess makes him the only repeat winner (although in different cars).

Re: HS Field for Nat's the Deepest Ever!

There were no repeat winners in Pro either. Looks like we are all in for some tough competition.

It's too bad that Nats occur during the school year... Seriously, there is no way I can go to college, and go to the Pro AND Tour! I'd need 2 weeks off from school. ??? Hopefully they will change the dates to the end of August sometime in the future. (yea, right) I know there are probably a lot more people besides myself in the same boat.

I wasn't premature, I only quited the facts that were available at the time...(see parenthesis stating "After Day 1")

Congrats to Ron.  Haven't seen the results, but it appears that the competition was good.

    ****Update****

Car is back.  After my master Honda Guy got a hold of it, it feels SO MUCH better than before, just the way I expected it was supposed to be.  I didn't realize how much better with the valves adjusted to spec (they had 70k on them and never adjusted) that the car would be.  Got back in the car today and I thought it did well.  I think we are just about ready.  How about everyone else?

Weeeellllllll, that is where the story goes south....Not really that much better, in fact, a little worse.  I have decided that as long as the drugs continue to work overnight, that since we run in the morning, I should be okay. it is the aftermath of pain that will most assurably follow.  But this IS National's and what I have prepared for all year long.  I am not gonna miss it for any reason.  I just can't justify not doing anything at work that requires me to be lazy and relax, just not in my nature.  Aleve and muscle relaxers work fine for now.  I will deal with the neck issue when I get back.

    Re: Who's Coming to HS?

Soooooo......remember how I said the Mini is still the car to have?  Big Smile

And I DID suck in AS this year I might add ;)

    Davebs14:

I'll see how much of my ass gets handed back to me in AS this year :)

Maybe I'll work out a co-drive with James someday :)

    ScottH560:
    Davebs14:

So once Chiles and Karter quit running minis the class became diverse?  ;)

I will enjoy watching HS because I do think there are a lot of fast cars. But I still think the mini is the car for the class. It just won't be as far ahead since folks are developing other cars now. :)

And if anyone thinks otherwise I'm always open to jump into a Mini and pove a point. Although Ron may do that for me :)

SportsCar says the class is diverse and picked Wil to win.  Dave, quit talking smack, jump in a HS Mini, and come take your arse whoopin like the rest of us who are not driving "Mazda 3's" are gonna get. Hell, Wil and James aren't even signed up yet.  Wil's number (197) taken by McKnight and James' number (99) are already taken so they are probably pissed and said screw it, we ain't going!!! Surprise

All I am gonna say is:

    "My Co-Driver and I AIN'T SKEER'D, bring em' on!"

    Re: New HS looks good

Last night after the awards, Joe, Kevin, Wes, Van, Chris and I talked for a bit, we need to create some kind of party tradition like the CP hoots.

Not sure if the blender blaster is somehing we should do.

Maybe we can have a grill and cook out on the night after Day 1 and have a cooler with beer.

I have the cooler at home and so do a lot of us.

I know someone in HS who can supply the beer but shall remain nameless for now.

What do people think and lets plan for 09?
