12 Replies and 1669 Views PE7 Course feedback  1669  12 Started by  mdavis PE7 was the first course I designed, and it would be nice to have some feedback from people that ran it. I heard everything from 'David Santel Approved' to 'Monza Inspired' to 'Too short' on site, but now that people have had time to think about things, watch some video, etc. what are people's thoughts Everyone I spoke to on site seemed to like it, but if anyone has anything that I can use going forward, that would be most appreciated.  My goal was to create something that was fun, fast,...

3 Replies and 1246 Views Wilmington Pro and Tour  1246  3 Started by  Catch-22 Great job everybody! Overall we did well in tackling the rarely attempted feat of hosting 3 national events in one season, and have learned enough from the experience that we should be able to do it better in the future. We'll have some discussions soon to compile what we did right, what we did wrong, what we can do better, and how we can make it easier in the future.  That site is amazing, and I'd like us to continue to put forth the extra effort to keep it. As a side, I spoke with a co...

4 Replies and 1348 Views Helmet loan?  1348  4 Started by Hey, guys. Never posted here, but I've been coming out to SOLOs for a little while now. Can someone tell me if the SOLO loaner helmets are SA rated This is probably a lot to ask, but if they are, would it be possible for me to borrow a couple of them at the end of October for a weekend HPDE I hate to be that guy, but thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Mine are M rated, which will get me through the auto-x events, so I'm not really to the point of needing to buy auto racing dedicated helmets...

8 Replies and 1133 Views PE 5 Recap  1133  8 Started by  a67ssrs I, for one, had a blast, despite getting trounced and having major back pain. I wasn't really aware of it, but evidently Street Open was fun to watch, with us each taking chunks of time off in turn. I felt as if I didn't leave much out there, but after watching the video, I think I could have found some time with a straighter line coming off the crest off the hill. I don't know if it would have been enough time to catch the top 3 though. Good racing, guys!    My fourth, and fastest, ...

6 Replies and 1205 Views PE4 Recap  1205  6 Started by  lnfftw2 I just wanted to thank everyone who came out to this event and made it the best Turfway event EVER!  As always Evan designed a great course!  Aaron G and new comer Ty showed up early to help set up the course and lug cones all over the event.  Thanks to Tact for showing up early as always to help with waivers and thanks to Kumar who helped us move the trailer. Also thanks to Dennis for coming to be our safety steward for the day! We really appreciate everyone's help and support. &...

7 Replies and 1500 Views Turfway Courses  1500  7 Started by  eaf363 I've begun work on the course for the 29th at Turfway, and as always I'm met with the choice between a simple, short course that may be a bit boring versus trying to cram 10 pounds of stuff into 5 pound bucket.  I wanted to get everyone's opinion on which way to go with it.  I have options that some might call 'confusing' (crossovers and potentially using one section of the course twice). So, do we take the ultra safe route and make something simple that the novices can easily see, or ...

0 Replies and 699 Views Critical Setup Position Needed for Champ Tour  699  0 Started by  Catch-22 We need someone to set up and tear down the corner stations on Saturday and Sunday of the Champ Tour. What this job entails is... -Be there early Saturday and Sunday to set up flags, radios, clip boards, and coolers of water at each station. -You'll need to make a Kroger or Walmart run very early each morning for lots and lots of water and ice (you pay and submit receipts to the region.  I was reimbursed within a week last year). -Be there at the end of the day each day to pick everythin...

5 Replies and 928 Views Solo PE 2 Results are posted  928  5 Started by  btschafer Final results are posted for PE2.  There was a tiny configuration error in our system which is why we were getting results like 104.123.  That is supposed to mean 1:04.123, or 64.123 seconds.  Unfortunately, the software was reading it as 104.123 seconds and that screws up the index times.   Times in the reports have been converted back to seconds, which is our usual format.   A side effect of all this is that results posted or announced on Sunday involving PAX -- and...

13 Replies and 1474 Views PE 2 Vidz & Discussion!!!  1474  13 Started by  slalomer Here's my 4th run in the Silver Bullet which wasn't my fastest run with a 62.0. Got two consecutive 61.2's on my last 2 runs to help me win BSP, BARELY over Kumar Viswalingham in his Miata. On this run I had one big mistake that costed me time at the far end of the course after the straight away and right hand sweeper, going into the left hand sweeper. That at least costed me a second. I shifted more on my last 2 runs to utilize 1st gear more in the esses.

5 Replies and 1010 Views New Guy Introduction  1010  5 Started by  icantdrive55 Just wanted to introduce myself and ask a few newb questions.  Been into cars a long time, and not really sure how it happened since my Dad was someone who looked upon the automobile as merely a mode of transportation and if it didn't do the expected--like start when he turned the key--he had no clue what to do.  Somehow survived the era of the 60s when men were idiots behind the wheel and cars were ill-handling death traps with 400 HP motors driven by skinny bias-ply nylon tires. &nbs...
