3 Replies and 1529 Views OEM Wheel Rules  1529  3 Started by  TheSupremeLou I'm running in the stock newbie class and I was looking to get a set of tires to run solely at the track.  I've found a couple of options as far as wheels and tires go, but I was wondering about the rules governing the size.  My car came originally equipped with 16' wheels, but could have been equipped with up to 17' rims.  Am I allowed to run 17' rims even if they're not the stock equipment or manufacturer parts  Also, does that extend to the width of the tires as well

3 Replies and 1388 Views Stock class suspension question  1388  3 Started by  robble Specifically regarding a MINI Cooper S but could be any car.  There are two factory suspensions offered direct from the assembly line (regular and sport suspension)  and one suspension that can be ordered and installed at the port (JCW suspension) before reaching the dealership.    If a MINI Cooper S on the dealer lot has a regular suspension, can the dealer upgrade it to either the sport suspension or JCW suspension and it still be legal for stock class

13 Replies and 2985 Views Cone damage to my Mazdaspeed 3  2985  13 Started by  Aaron Johnson I'm an autocross novice, but I've been enjoying the hell out of it and entering as many events in as I can sign up for.  Being a novice, I occasionally get over-zealous with the throttle and push into some cones.  This is starting to hurt the car.  I've broken three out of four attachment points for the plastic aero panels on the underside of the car ahead of the front wheels.  Everything else seems pretty solid, but the way these panels are attached just seems flimsy.  ...

13 Replies and 2560 Views Street Tire Prep level vs Stock prep on R Comps  2560  13 Started by  Jcp907 I'll wear my flame suit for this one, just in case. If we had the street touring classes broken down the same way (classification wise) as stock, and allow a competitor to prepare to those rules, OR prepare to stock rules, and run R comps, but allow them to compete together (Street Touring with the Stock guys)...what happens If the cars are close enough to compete with each other at these prep levels: We have class consolidation leading to more cars per class: Newbies  with common modi...

I'm completely new to AutoX, is it even worth it to begin upgrading parts and going up in classes before gaining experience Or should I stick to keeping the car as close to GS as possible

12 Replies and 2970 Views Newbie: Bigger Brakes STS or STX?  2970  12 Started by  LoserCard I have been tearing away at the rulebook all night and composed a list of modifications eligible for my car (240SX) however I have come to a couple things that need some experienced/professional opinions.  First off, I am going off the 2013 Solo Rules Book regarding brakes in the ST category. I see no subclass ST specifications (STS, STX, etc.) regarding this so I assume it is allowed in ALL ST classes 14.6 BRAKES A. Non-standard brake rotors may be used provided they are of equal or la...
