2 Replies and 2427 Views Need Tire Advice! **Please Help!!** (time sensitive)  2427  2 Started by  JDMricist Hello fellow autoxers! First of all I'm looking to buy a set of rear C5 Z06 wheels because I hear there is no fitment issues putting them up front and the car already understeers as it is if not giving power when turning at it's limits so I'm hoping that will help. Also wanting to do that so I could rotate my tires. Let my know if that is a bad idea for a reason I don't know about (besides bad tramlining). But onto the part that I REALLY need help on.... I have been running Nitto NT05s fo...

2 Replies and 21697 Views Sky Redline  21697  2 Started by  davedrivesasky I'm looking to start tinkering with my 2008 Sky Redline.  Just a bit: Intake, tune, suspension, chassis braces.  Where does the Sky go from AS  Best I can find is right to ASP...but that doesn't make sense.  It seems like a stop in SSR (where several AS competitors go) or STU (where no AS cars seem to go) would be a more likely stop than straight to ASP. There is no 'catch-all' listed for SSR... The STU 'Catch All' states: Sedans & Coupes NOC (nonsports-car-based; 4-se...

3 Replies and 7039 Views New racer needing suggestions.  7039  3 Started by  Turbochaga Hello all! I've waited too long to start racing, I have always been interested racing an it's time to quit making excuses! So here is my issue... Right now I own 2 vehicles, a 2016 scion tC (auto) and a 2009 honda fit (man). Problem is that I need to get rid of the fit as I've just moved to a new city, and will be making a smaller salary. I am making payments on both and I'm required to have full coverage. I plan to sell the fit, but I'd be willing to make the sacrifice to keep it if it outweigh...

1 Replies and 5730 Views 2017 Mazda Miata RF (hardtop convertible) roll bar question  5730  1 Started by  Nybbler I know the ragtop Miata requires a roll bar for rollover protection to participate in AutoX.  I recently looked at a Miata RF which has a hardtop convertible.  I was wondering if that also requires the same, or if it is considered okay as is.  I recently made the mistake of test driving a hardtop Miata and fell in love with it. 0 Replies and 407 Views SAVE THE Hoosier 295-35-15 A7!!!!!!  407  0 Started by  randallwilcox After talking with Jeff Speer at Hoosier today, the 295-35-15 A7 seems to be dead. They are cancelling production of the tire as of today. If you, or anyone you know, may ever use this tire, please email infohoosiertire.com and express your dissatisfaction. Tell your friends too. If they get enough emails in the next day or two, we might be able to sway their thoughts. It's actually how this tire got the green light to begin with.

0 Replies and 315 Views Noise Limit  315  0 Started by  jack112286 It seems that there are lost of noise concerns in recent years and have heard risks to losing sites. I am not sure how much of a problem it is for your local region, but I do know that the SCCA upper limits (100db) seems rather high. I do know that some sites runs lower even for tour/pro. But I am just seeing how competitor would feel about lowering the sound limit. I have couple of ideas a questions, feel free to discuss / comment / object / etc. My first question is, would it be feasible to ...

5 Replies and 8403 Views Course chalk outline tool  8403  5 Started by  ericdc I am looking for suggestions on a course outline chalker. I have seen clubs use carts of some type, presumably designed for baseball fields, and other clubs simply drag milk jugs full of chalk with a small whole cut in the bottom. Anyone want to offer a suggestion on the best option Do the chalk carts clog Any particular model known to be particularly good Any other recommendations

0 Replies and 288 Views 2017 Solo Nationals – Writers wanted  288  0 Started by  spitfire4gp    Do you like to write You could help cover the Solo Nationals for SportsCar Magazine, and it counts as your worker credit.    The ideal situation is drivers who plan to be there for all four days of Nationals. You can cover classes on the days you do NOT run, leaving you free to focus on your competition on your run days. But anyone who wishes to apply is encouraged to do so, including drivers just there for the two days they run.    No one should have to write...

Specifically, SS, CS, FS and HCS had wrong numbers. Please refer to the Official PAX/RTP site: http://solotime.info/pax/rtp2017.html SS should be 0.826 CS should be 0.810 FS should be 0.804 and HCS should be 0.809 H's & K's, Rick Ruth PAX/RTP Administrator

2 Replies and 11234 Views Need Suggestions, and maybe a car.  11234  2 Started by  skisoloii I need help, folks. My daughter gets her permit this August, and starts high school a month later. She's been running a kart for a few years, and wants to continue autocrossing (maybe with her Dad, Gxd forbid).  Looking to find an appropriate car for next year.  We have a few more requirements: I want her to be able to take it to high school and college if it lasts that long. So it needs to be small enough to not be a Party-mobile (Party Palace anyone), but it needs to be able to c...

6 Replies and 8591 Views 2013-16 2.5L Cadillac ATS?  8591  6 Started by  IndyIan Anyone seen one of these run around the cones  I'm considering getting one as its probably the best 4dr rwd chassis I can afford to DD.  I'm aware its not going to be fast, but I'm more concerned about the open diff.  There isn't one locally to try out unfortunately.  I'd think with reasonably stiff suspension and 50/50 weight distribution and only 200hp, it should put the power down pretty good. Lots of the automatic 2.0T and 3.6 cars will have an open rear diff too, so ma...

0 Replies and 518 Views In depth CAM coverage from Fontana ProSolo  518  0 Started by  Chad-1stGen I did my first ProSolo last weekend and had a blast.  A lot of pro touring guys, who helped inspire the CAM class, drag raced at some point.  ProSolo, with its mix of drag racing side by side launches and autocross seems like a perfect event for CAM cars.  Based on my searches through the 2016 ProSolo the 17 drivers we had in CAM cars at Fontana is the best turn out to date.  I'm hoping to see even more CAM drivers try ProSolo so I wanted to share the www.AutoXandTrack.com co...
