However, as soon as the second staging beam lit, the red light also lit up. I backed up out of the second staging beam and the red light and the second stage light went out together. I then re-entered the second staging beam and the second stage light and the red light both came on at ...

1 Replies and 687 Views Noise level testing  687  1 Started by  tazs5oh We just had our first complaint about noise levels at a Solo II event. We are trying to work up a policy for testing cars. I'm curious as to how other regions test noise levels for there Solo I events. Here are a few questions that I can think of.Do you test when the car is on course, underload Do you test the car at tech, no load, and engine at a certain rpmWhat db level do you test for, 95db What distance are you from the vehicle when testingThanks,Tony

Each slalom seemed to get tighter as you went through them. There were 60'ers, 45'ers w/ a slight offset to our advantage, a small left- big right short slalom, and then just a really really tiny one. As the subject states, I was wondering if people could post up Tips, rules, instructions, techniques, etc... for driving the different types of slaloms. Please post up if speaking ab...

1 Replies and 716 Views Getting Started?  716  1 Started by  905.0gt Hi- I'm building an ITC Ford Fiesta (almost track ready) that I would like to Solo 1 the car in a few times this year before the double driver's school next year. My question is who do I have to talk to to get a license (I am 17 and haven't held a solo 1 license before). I have the car part pretty much taken car of, it only lacks belts and the fuel cell, but don't know what to do about the license. Thanks.

He gave me quite a ride, when I let him drive! Wanted to see what theses guys thought about the current setup. Replacing the shocks, lower the back, and the resulting camber changes really effected the car's handling, go figure.Seems that I got a pretty good handle on where the racing lines are. I ...

4 Replies and 1143 Views Ladies Class  1143  4 Started by  stackfault Not to start a flame war, but what do you all think of the ladies class I understand the novice class concept, but find it strange that we'd have a ladies class. I don't see where women are at any disadvantage in autocross, unless your car requries a great deal of upper body strength to drive. Was it simply intended to draw more women into the sport My wife has no interest in it and prefers to run in the open class with me. Just curious.Mike

2 Replies and 759 Views Car Numbers/Decals  759  2 Started by  RobG I know that 'real' numbering and lettering is required for the Pro, which is fine. My problem is that this year, I'll have a co-driver, and I didn't think to number the car with the extra '1' (e.g. 142 instead of just 42 as it is now), to allow for that. The question is this: Will they complain if I use matching racer's tape (e.g. red in this case) to make a '1' There really is no room to have a real '1' made up by the sign shop because the other numbers are just too big.The homemade '1' won'...
