4 Replies and 1255 Views What class is this Merkur?  1255  4 Started by  Chris12 I have been autocrossing my daily driver, but I decided to have a dedicated street legal car to race.  I recently bought a 88 Merkur XR4TI.  I want to race/autocross it.  It has a T5 transmission swap with a stage 3 clutch and a single piece driveshaft.  I am looking to at a RS500 whale tail and racing seats.  I am trying to figure out what class it would be in.  I am thinking its SM, but I am not 100 sure.  Can anyone help

11 Replies and 1127 Views Newbie saying hi  1127  11 Started by  scarfache I just wanted to say hi to everyone and I look forward to furthering my interest in this sport. My ride is detailed in my signature. Next mod I have planned is gut interior, I'm taking any tips on good reclinable seats what won't put me in the poor house, but also will do what they need to do. I'm short (5'7') and wide so will need a seat that can accommodate a man of my...stature. Looking for a cloth black seat preferably. Also need a good steering wheel that also won't break the bank. Some...

1 Replies and 805 Views CAM rule clarification  805  1 Started by  Fault Bucket Hi all, I'm considering going into CAM-S with my Solstice GXP. Seems like a good fit for the class and a potential real competitor. My question is to clarify whether the soft top could be removed and replaced with a removable hard top. It seems like the allowance of 'Body panels may be modified or replaced in the original standard locations' would permit this, but I'm afraid I'm being too creative with my interpretation. Thanks!

Here's the important stuff: 1999 Audi A4 1.8 Turbo AWD - Reprogrammed ECU with revised boost levels. - Stock turbo. - Turbo-back exhaust with test pipe, no catalytic converter. - Factory big brake kit front and rear (Audi A8 brakes, nothing huge). - Street tires on 17x8 wheels. - Sport shocks and springs, coilovers coming next year. - Racing seats on Wedge Racing mounts. ...

3 Replies and 1110 Views Can we get a CAM-like class for imports?  1110  3 Started by  Kanaric The purpose of CAM seems to be to allow people with already modified American cars that were not built for autocross have a class. On top of that being the case for people with imports already there has been a serious flow of JDM cars into the US lately. A few people I know have bought Nissan Skylines for example. Out local group let them run in SSM (which I think was wrong). However it's not just these there have been S13s, Pulsars, etc. A large variety of cars that people have as their pro...

The ideal situation is drivers who plan to be there for all four days of Nationals. You can cover classes on the days you do NOT run, leaving you free to focus on your competition on your run days. Most needed are Tuesday-Wednesday drivers staying over who can cover Thursday-Friday classes. But anyone who wishes to apply is encouraged to do so, including drivers just the...

7 Replies and 3078 Views Drone rules  3078  7 Started by  alumarventrue Good morning folks, My name is Michael Carter and I will be joining the autocross in STL again this year. Until I find my autocross car of choice (debating internally among a Triumph GT6, Miata, Fiero or MR2) I am using my daily driver 2013 Toyota TC with a spare set of wheels. 10 Replies and 3302 Views Android PAX/RTP 2015 App  3302  10 Started by  sjfehr I've updated my PAX/RTP android app to reflect Rick Ruth's latest 2015 numbers including his concrete PAX numbers.  Still completely free with no ads, I just do this for fun.  Ostensibly.  If you already have an older version installed, you should get an update notification, otherwise you can go to google play and manually update it.   From what I hear there will not be a separate Pro Solo index this year, but I'll update if one is added.
