2 Replies and 1882 Views New Guy seeking advice  1882  2 Started by  JamesPoe I purchased a 1997 5 speed Altima about 2 years ago, gave it to my bro in law and it is returned needing a clutch. Car runs fine inspire of 300k miles. Leaks from the front seal and front end is wore out. It's actually pretty complete. I've always been into cars and my wife and i reliable transportation. I have a few dollars to spend, but the pocket book definitely isn't open ended. This Altima is far from my dream car and will never be. Is it a waste of time to make needed suspension ...

5 Replies and 1980 Views Siphon/replace fuel  1980  5 Started by  Matth3w Is there a way to easily siphon and replace fuel before a race My 2016 Miata is my DD, so what I end up doing for the week before the race is filling up in like $2 increments. I'd rather just have an effective way to siphon and replace...preferably something via Amazon Prime since I live in Hawaii and it's ridiculous to ship here. I'm ok spending extra money (dedicated system vs. home-brewed solution).

1 Replies and 1469 Views Honda Civic downshift to 1st 180°?  1469  1 Started by  Drifter23 Hello to all of you users of SCCAforums.com I am wondering how can some drivers downshift to 1st so easy when getting to a 180° turn, i know some people think it is unnecesary, but when your talking about peaky engines like a civic, it is really helpfull to be able to use 1st specially at a 180° turn; I've even seen Mitsubishi Evo's doing it for this kind of turns, and its weird cuz in some in-car videos you just don't see them using double clutch or something like that, looks like a normal t...

2 Replies and 1135 Views Classification help  1135  2 Started by  cuatrokoop32v I'm getting back into the swing of Solo2, and finally got a car that I will have some fun in.  I was working very slowly on an engine swap on a car I've owned for almost 20 years, however since it has sat in storage for so long, it needed a lot of work despite looking fantastic (beauty is only skin deep).  I ended up finding a near twin of what I was going to build fairly local, and for a decent price, so I jumped on it.  The car is a 1990 Audi Coupe quattro with an ABH code 4.2L ...

0 Replies and 743 Views DFW Map Rally,Fort Worth TX/GTA/08OCT16  743  0 Started by  sccarall2 It's time for our annual Map Rally!  We will give you a map with a dozen or so points-of-interest marked on it, and you will have 30 minutes to determine the shortest route to visit them all, and return to the start. Then you go drive your route, and we will measure the mileage you took, according to your car's odometer. We don't know exactly the route you will take, but it will probably all be in rural Parker County, Texas.   Registration will be at Holt FIAT of Fort Worth, 400 W L...

4 Replies and 1385 Views What class is this Merkur?  1385  4 Started by  Chris12 I have been autocrossing my daily driver, but I decided to have a dedicated street legal car to race.  I recently bought a 88 Merkur XR4TI.  I want to race/autocross it.  It has a T5 transmission swap with a stage 3 clutch and a single piece driveshaft.  I am looking to at a RS500 whale tail and racing seats.  I am trying to figure out what class it would be in.  I am thinking its SM, but I am not 100 sure.  Can anyone help

11 Replies and 1231 Views Newbie saying hi  1231  11 Started by  scarfache I just wanted to say hi to everyone and I look forward to furthering my interest in this sport. My ride is detailed in my signature. Next mod I have planned is gut interior, I'm taking any tips on good reclinable seats what won't put me in the poor house, but also will do what they need to do. I'm short (5'7') and wide so will need a seat that can accommodate a man of my...stature. Looking for a cloth black seat preferably. Also need a good steering wheel that also won't break the bank. Some...

1 Replies and 886 Views CAM rule clarification  886  1 Started by  Fault Bucket Hi all, I'm considering going into CAM-S with my Solstice GXP. Seems like a good fit for the class and a potential real competitor. My question is to clarify whether the soft top could be removed and replaced with a removable hard top. It seems like the allowance of 'Body panels may be modified or replaced in the original standard locations' would permit this, but I'm afraid I'm being too creative with my interpretation. Thanks!

Here's the important stuff: 1999 Audi A4 1.8 Turbo AWD - Reprogrammed ECU with revised boost levels. - Stock turbo. - Turbo-back exhaust with test pipe, no catalytic converter. - Factory big brake kit front and rear (Audi A8 brakes, nothing huge). - Street tires on 17x8 wheels. - Sport shocks and springs, coilovers coming next year. - Racing seats on Wedge Racing mounts. ...

3 Replies and 1231 Views Can we get a CAM-like class for imports?  1231  3 Started by  Kanaric The purpose of CAM seems to be to allow people with already modified American cars that were not built for autocross have a class. On top of that being the case for people with imports already there has been a serious flow of JDM cars into the US lately. A few people I know have bought Nissan Skylines for example. Out local group let them run in SSM (which I think was wrong). However it's not just these there have been S13s, Pulsars, etc. A large variety of cars that people have as their pro...
