7 Replies and 4804 Views Street class tire width question  4804  7 Started by  Chriswd62 I need some help choosing the right tire width for my CLA45 in Super Street class this season. The car came with 19x8 wheels and 235/35-19 tires. I'm getting ready to order a set of Hankook R-S3 tires; however, I don't know if I should stick with the factory tire size or go with 245/35-19s. I know I really should consider downsizing to a lighter set of 18x8's, but right now that's not an option. I've read recently that wider isn't always better when it comes to street tires on narrower wheel...

2 Replies and 2035 Views F56 Cooper S Tire Size  2035  2 Started by  ding My friend runs a F56 mini Cooper S at our local autox and we are having a hard time finding the maximum with people are running for tires on this car. He is planning on using a 16x7 wheel, I was thinking we could get an 215 on there, but there doesn't seem to be anyone that has, and the math makes it look like it could hit the strut. Anyone have any insight as to what width tire you can sneak on this car. My wifes r56 tucks a 205 with ease, and I'm pretty sure people put 225s on the r56 as w...

25 Replies and 9021 Views What's the street class harness rule?  9021  25 Started by  Conekilla
(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
I usually compete in Cstreet. I have been seeing more and more cars in my class (or any street class that is) using 4, 5 or 6 point harnesses. Some are fastened to the rear seat belt attachment (kind of like these http://www.schrothracing.com/tuning/rallye/rallye-3) while some are actual 5/6 point harnesses. Most of these are regular coupes (non convertibles). I asked my local autox chapter and their reply 'we don't care. It's safety feature'. But what's being passed as 'safety' is also keeping ...

2 Replies and 2459 Views 2011-2014 Mustang Camber adjustment in F-street  2459  2 Started by  JCHack91 Hey gang, I'm pretty sure you can adjust camber in street classes as long as you use authorized repair procedures. Unfortunately I'm having a difficult time finding the required repair procedures and correct part /cam kit to make this adjustment legally in F-street. My car is a 2013 Mustang. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank Chris

15 Replies and 4107 Views 2015 Mustang order thoughts ?  4107  15 Started by  murphyslaww I'm swaying back and forth on picking up an E46 M3 and buying my first Muscle car(Mid-life crisis time). The 2015 mustang has my interest, but some of the ordering peculiarities are getting in the way for me a bit. looks like I can't get a non-premium, non performance pack GT and upgrade the wheels beyond 18x8 per the street rules as that's the only way you can buy them, at least by the website. $33k The performance pack puts you into a 3.73 final drive, w...

1 Replies and 2410 Views E-Street MR2 Tires for 2015  2410  1 Started by  Fishnchip Hi All My co-driver finally bought himself a toy of his own to flog around the courses, and I am trying to help him with the best set-up possible. He ended up getting an 04 MR2 Spyder. Now, from what ive been able to find, the 195/50 x 15 tires were the special sauce tires formerly. With the R1R's now coming in 200TW, are the new 195/55 x 15 tires now the ones to have, or is the jury still out Will these need to be/should be shaved Thanks! Norm

6 Replies and 3587 Views g-Force Rival 2015 Compound Tweak?  3587  6 Started by  danderso I have heard from two different people who are fairly plugged in to the SCCA national scene that there is a compound tweak coming to the g-Force Rival for 2015. Is this true and if so what's the timing I haven't been able to find anything to this effect documented on the Internet and calls to both Tire Rack and Michelin Customer Care had them both tell me aside from new sizes for 2015 they were not aware of any other changes to the compound. 21 Replies and 2968 Views Comfort and convenience opinion-Window Louvers  2968  21 Started by  jj2218
(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
I have a '14 Mustang GT base which I am planning to use for F-street. The stock wheel width is 8', but there was an 'FP8 Appearance Pack' available as a stand alone option which came with 8.5' wheels. This option also came with window louvers in the package. To do the update/backdate, could I just delete the window louvers under comfort and convenience, and run without them thanks. PS- I am looking for 18 x 8.5' wheels for sale. Possibly yellow konis also.

For hot weather events I am planning to run Rivals or Kooks, but curious how these AZENIS RT615K tires from Falken do in the cold and/or wet How do they handle the cold vs, hot, vs wet thanks in advance. ...

4 Replies and 1835 Views Subframe cracks on E46 M3s  1835  4 Started by  sotti I probably shouldn't be too worried since I'll never be nationally competitive, but my M3 just started developing it's notorious subframe mount cracks. The fix is to drop everything off the car and weld the cracks and weld up reinforcement plates. Is this sort of thing typically allowed It's not really a performance improvement, it just keeps the car from tearing itself apart, it's adding weight. With as frequently as these cars are having issues, I would think that this has come up befor...
