7 Replies and 1934 Views Honda FSP Roll Call 1934 7 Started by GP Hondaman i was just trying to find out who is planning to run their former 1984-87 CSP, GP and stock class Hondas in F Street Prepared this year I am wondering if Steve Meritz & Stacey Despleder, Grady Wood, Scott Giles, Dan Costello, Scott Hearne, Rob Foley, and possibly a few others that I might have left out here. I already spoke to Mike Fehrer and he stated that he's too deep in prepared class form to change back to SP trim. Understandable. I am planning to bring my former1984 CSP CRX out this ye...

0 Replies and 1052 Views Lower Control Arm rule clarification 1052 0 Started by phate I want to clarify before I start buying parts. I want to incorporate an adjustable spring perch on the rear lower control arm of a mazda 6. In 15.8.A, it sounds like I can't modify the control arm's spring perch by cutting and welding in a new one (they're a really weird shape). 15.8.H.1 and 15.8.H.4 lead me to believe I can replace the entire arm with an aftermarket unit, which can incorporate any type of spring perch as long as it is in the original location. Am I readi...

8 Replies and 1679 Views 350z SP question 1679 8 Started by 2FMRaines I was under the impression that if your car started in say CS, when you did a modification that bumped you up a class you would follow that class. IE: I changed the wheel size and offset, I would move from CS to CSP. I looked and looked and found an article that 350z's were in BSP, yet I was allowed and advised to run in CSP most of this past year (local solo only). During the last race there was another 350z in BSP, he was told to run in BSP. So, which is it and can I maybe get a little explan...

2 Replies and 2345 Views Roll cage in CSP 2345 2 Started by Illbebetter I am adding a roll cage to my Time Trial/Hillclimb CSP car. I want to use double door bars that enter the interior of the door. This is what I can find in the solo rules and GCR pertaining to roll cages. The way I interpret it is that I am allowed to remove what is needed for the installation even though removeing those parts is not normally CSP legal. Am I correct Autox rules Rollover structures 1. Roll bars must comply with Section 13.2.I.1 in Stock category. 2. Roll cages must comply with ...

2 Replies and 1401 Views [ESP] Y303 heads for 351W? 1401 2 Started by max_burke I've seen mention that the Y303 (GT40Y) heads are considered service replacements for the iron GT40 heads in the case of the Cobra R, and I've seen that a number of people are using, or have used, these heads, but does any one know where it is mentioned that this combination is legal Is there a specific tech bulletin or TSB where this is called out On a related note, how close would a 351W build have to be the original motor Is it required to use the exact engine block part from...

15 Replies and 3423 Views Who has tried the BFG R1-S in SP? 3423 15 Started by GotCone? So I'm in a bit of a dilemma and I'd love all feedback from those who have tried both. I'm co-driving in Street Prepared this season. The car owner has made the switch this season from the Kumhos to the Hoosiers. Our first event went well and out of the box no real changes were needed to make them 'work'. It's obvious the Hoosiers want more front camber, so we're dialing that in as well as a few other changes. I keep hearing a lot of talk that the BFGs... 'have more grip' 'wear better' ...

2 Replies and 2321 Views Front splitter rules question? 2321 2 Started by conekiller2 Thinking about doing a front splitter on our BSP S2000. However i am a little uncertain as to the interpretation of the rules. The rules according to the current rule book state cannot protrude beyond the bumper, however most of the sp cars that i saw at the nj pro seemed to have a lot more splitter than that implies. I also recall something about 6 inches and even someone getting protested because they were abouty 1/4' too much. Any clarification would be appreciated

3 Replies and 1642 Views Turning crank journals legal? 1642 3 Started by SMSupercoupe I oil starved the LS1 in my ESP car, and I need to either repair or replace the crank. I'd prefer to turn the journals rather than buy a whole new crank, but I'm not sure whether that's legal. There's nothing in the rulebook, so I'm assuming this defaults to the 'whatever the factory service manual says to do,' but I wanted to make sure. Thanks!

Im currently in BSP and have prepped the car to mostly an STR Level. Im curious to hear from other guys who have moved from 225 rs3's which are the widest street tire for an nb on 15's to the 275 A6's The usual guess is 2 seconds for moving to a tire of the size size. So whats your guess for this move

4 Replies and 1658 Views Occasional autoxer and DE car wants to get more serious 1658 4 Started by oregonmon Hey guys, Great forum here. I've been tinkering around with this great little 90 Miata and it's a great combination use car. Autox, DE, some street, not my daily driver though. I've done 3 DEs and wasn't hooked, even with that huge difference in seat you get. :) So I'm looking on which way to take my autox experience a little more serious. I'm decent behind the wheel and can hold my own I feel but I need to get the car in a proper class. Seems the 2 ways to go would be CSP or STS. Either w...

Hopefully one of your guru's would be willing to help me get to the bottom of this. I had a chance to drive a similiarrly prepped Evo mid-last year. It was one of the most well balanced, neutral and easy to drive cars I have ever had the pleasure of driving in. It was at that point I knew there was something terribly amiss in my setup. Here are the stages I've gone through in an effort to get my car there. Original setup - 2011 Stock sway bars 600f/800r spring rates. 18x9.5” whe...

(Topic has multiple pages1 2 3 ... 4 )
As the RX-8 is now in STX for the '09 season, the topic has been raised on other forums about whether the car should be re-classed to DSP. The most capable cars currently in this class 'appear' to be:-E30, E36 & E46 3 series BMW's-ITR-IS300-Impreza 2.5RSThe '04-'09 RX-8 is similar in size, weight and whp to the E36 BMW's, but comes with a peaky ITR powerband with a similar lack-of-torque achilles heel. I personally don't see it being dominant in this class, but it'll be course dependent whet...

11 Replies and 2705 Views SP forged piston clarification 2705 11 Started by Mojambo Good morning, I'm currently rebuilding my motor in my ASP STI. I'm on my 2nd ring land failure and want to replace the pistons for forged units as per the rules. I've bolded the rules below. The big thing I'm finding is that the weight of the forged material VS the Cast is showing to be a problem to match(forged being lighter than the cast). so if the pistons are 100 identical, dish, dome shape etc.. how can the 2 materials be matched weight wise. For this reason, I'm thinking that the wr...
