0 Replies and 1046 Views Classing question  1046  0 Started by  Kentetsu I currently run a 1985 RX7 in CSP. Over the winter, I added two items that will move me out of CSP, but I'm not sure what class it will put me in now. The items in questions are: 1. Turn in spacers (roll center correction blocks) 2. A triangulated front strut bar (mounts to firewall) I'm short on time, so if anyone is willing to take mercy on me and give me the easy answer, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. :) Here's a short video from last year if you are looking to ki...

0 Replies and 1725 Views SP classing confusion  1725  0 Started by  fast_eddie_72 I tried to submit an online request to the SEB. Not sure if it went thorugh or not. I got an error when I submitted it. Not really a problem, just wanted to point out a minor error I found. Figured someone who needs to see it might find it here. '76 and '77 Ford/Mercury Capris are currently listed in both DSP and FSP. I think at one time all the 4 cyl. cars were FSP and the V6s DSP. Looks like maybe an error was made when that was changed. The line in DSP is probably supposed to read (1971-74)...

However, based on line 15.1 B which states that the allowances are only in excess of stock but that if vehicles are on the same line in Appendix A then they are ...

What are everyone's thoughts on this potential move I was planning on building up my car for BSP this year (hopefully starting soon) so I think I like the idea of getting bumped!

1 Replies and 2094 Views "Camber Kits"  2094  1 Started by  DSPBMW This is from the rulebook. Camber kits, also known as camber compensators, may be installed. These kits consist of either adjustable length arms or arm mounts that provide a lateral adjustment to the effective length of a control arm. Alignment outside the factory specifications is allowed. Caster changes resulting from the use of camber kits are permitted. The following restrictions apply: Keep the bolded part in mind. Also in the book..... 4. The replacement arms or mounts must attach to...

26 Replies and 4636 Views Cruise control removal?  4636  26 Started by  Brigdh
(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
I'm hoping someone knowledgeable in the rules can answer this for me. Can cruise control components (switches, vacuum controlled actuators in the engine bay, dedicated control modules that are separate from the ecu, etc) be removed in SP classes All of the models on the same line as my car in Appendix A had cruise standard, so I don't see how the frontdate/backdate rules could be applied, but it seems like if you can remove the AC, radio/speakers, major emissions components, and with everythi...

6 Replies and 2262 Views ASP Bad thoughts - BMW Content  2262  6 Started by  scardeal Is a turbocharger considered part of the engine assembly in terms of update/backdate allowances If it's not, then this thought just popped into my head: 2012 328 (4-cyl turbo) and 2012 335i are on the same line. That would mean you could take the bigger 335 turbo and put it on the 328. You'd have the lighter weight of a 4-cylinder, with all the power capability of the bigger turbo hotness. Discuss.

5 Replies and 2142 Views 2007 Civic Si Competitive in Street Modified?  2142  5 Started by  caj04 So I decided to make a new post concerning whether my 2007 Civic Si would be competitive in street modified if prepared correctly. I wouldn't really know because I've never autocrossed nationally and I'm fairly new to autocross. My car is currently in G Stock with a cat back exhaust, drop in filter, Dunlop direzza's, and soon to be rear sway bar. Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

1 Replies and 1852 Views SP rear spoiler for higher speeds  1852  1 Started by  dgoetz I want to run some hill climbs and track days but I have a 10' Lexan spoiler on the back and I think that could be dangerous for the higher speeds. I will compete in SSP class on the hill climbs so i can't run a wing or i would be bumped up to SSM class. What height spoiler should I run I am thinking maybe replace with a 4' high lexan piece with shorter brace rods and angle more backward. Still too much or not enough I was thinking something would be better than nothing. I have run up to 90...

12 Replies and 3847 Views camber adjustment via lower control arm on struts  3847  12 Started by  cdlong 15.8.H.4 says you can use a lower control arm to adjust camber and include a non standard ball joint. Doing this on a strut front suspension would then require a fixed upper mount, not a usual camber plate. Some quick measurements makes me think the lower control arm would need to be about an inch longer to maintain the same camber (the distance the strut top is offset from the center of the stock strut mount), which is probably outside the range of adjustment of most aftermarket control arms....

(Topic has multiple pages1 2 3 ... 4 )
I wrote a letter last Aug requesting to have the Saturn S-series cars moved from DSP to FSP. It was published in the Oct fastrack for membership comment along with a of similar cars asking for the same move and then since then. Each fastrack I eagerly look at hoping for some news only to find nothing. I recently sent another letter asking if it had fallen thru the cracks and was told it is still being discussed. Anyone hearing anything on this lately I'd like to star...

I would like to use Dbilas Dynamics' ITB's (Dbilas) per this rule: 15.10 ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN C. Induction allowances are as follows: 1. Carburetors, fuel injection, and intake manifolds are unrestricted, subject to 15.10.D. Alternate throttle linkage and connections to facilitate installation of allowed induction systems are permitted, but may serve no other purpose. If an induction system item is allowed to be r...

Any metal clutch assembly, metal flywheel, or metal torque converter that uses the standard attachment to the crankshaft may be used. Non-metallic friction surfaces (e.g., clutch disks) are permitted. Dowel pins may be added. Any hydraulic clutch line may be used. Replacement or substitution of the clutch slave cylinder is permitted, but this does not allow non-original methods of clutch actuation (e.g. pull type versus push type).' The rule reads as such. Any clue why it's there
