6 Replies and 2209 Views Cutting holes for ECU wiring 2209 6 Started by Tim Irwin I'm dropping an '02 VVT motor into my '94. The ECU setup (Adaptronic) I have uses the engine wiring harness for the VVT motor along with the stock wiring harness. Before I cut, I want to make sure it's legal. Can I cut an additional hole in the firewall for the VVT harness If not, would it make a difference if I am matching a hole that exists in the '02 (update/backdate) and am using the OEM grommet, etc The hole in question is (on the NB) oval and just behind and slightly to the passenger sid...

2 Replies and 1918 Views Clarification on models and variants 1918 2 Started by trompazo I'm wondering what actually is considered a 'model' of a specific vehicle For example, the ASP listing for corvettes just says 'Corvette 2005-2011 (C6 Chassis)'. I think its univerally agreed that that means all corvettes (Z06, ZR1, Grandsport, Convertibles) are ASP legal although it doesn't specifically state that. For other cars, like Lotus, it says Exige S (2005-2011). That would imply to me that all variants of an Exige S are legal. In 2007, there only was an Exige S, but in 2008 and on the...

5 Replies and 2664 Views What mods to go from ST* to SP*? 2664 5 Started by The Nebulizer I am thinking about the newly proposed BSP class (despite my aversion to R-comp costs and hassles). What would you suggest I need to turn a nicely prepped e46 M3 STU car to a nicely prepped BSP car Do you think this car could be at least somewhat competitive against the S2000, Porsches, Z4M, and others Current mods: coilovers, camber plates, swaybar, bushings, pulleys, CAI, Ti exhaust, 12lb battery, 18x10 wheels (able to fit 285s under fenders)

Regardless of the thought process on all the other proposed changes to the SP classes, I would like to ask about the GTR. Road & Track has tested both, and the numbers are interesting, and the weight difference seems to to matter much. In the following order (HP, TQ, Wgt, 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile, skid pad, slalom) - Z06 505, 470, 3305, 3.6, 8.2, 11.9, 1.06, 74.1 GTR 485, 434, 3920, 3.3, 8.0, 11.6, 1.01, 74.8 Sure looks like a reasonable A/SP car. Both can be 'tuned, tired up, etc. I...

4 Replies and 2667 Views Aftermarket moonroof...SP legal? 2667 4 Started by RobertM Due to the upcoming ST re-org my already outclassed Neon will be hopelessly outclassed next year. Instead of throwing money away on the Neon, I have decided to take the '82 Rx7 GS in my garage and turn it into a CSP car. However, while the car came from the factory with no sunroof the original owner added an aftermarket moonroof. From my interpretation of Stock rule 13.2.A this is an allowed mod under the comfort/convience clause as it increased the weight of the car and will have no effect o...

Woah, April Fasttrack has some interesting proposals 'Based on feedback received from the membership the SPAC feels that it is time for an additional Street Prepared class to be added to the category. This class will fit “between” the current CSP and BSP classes by creating a new class designated G Street Prepared and re-lettering other classes. Cars currently classed in FSP will be moved to GSP, cars classed in DSP moved to FSP, and most cars classed in CSP moved to D...

With E85 EVOS pumping out 425 to 430 HP I just wonder if these cars belong in BSP Especially when one considers that rain days at nationals are a high probability. Just thinking out loud. Certainly seems to be a bit of an overdog in BSP. I just dont think we have seen best driving in these cars yet as they appeal to younger fast and furious crowd.

6 Replies and 2852 Views Do the differences of the Boss and Laguna Seca Mustang in Stock Apply to SP? 2852 6 Started by Major_Lee_Slow Are the differences between the three Mustangs, GT, Boss and Laguna Seca which caused the SEB to class them all in different classes negated with SP mods, or should the Boss and Laguna be classed in the 'new' CSP I do see that the cars are all on one line in the current fastrack so can't someone just pick the 'best' parts from each model and make a super mustang. i.e. low weight of the Laguna, correct rear gear of the GT, High power of the Boss/Laguna How much weight could one pull out of t...
