2 Replies and 5260 Views EMod Maybe?  5260  2 Started by  Randy Hickman I've just gotten a 'new to me' car. I bought it 'just for fun' and that part worked out really well - I don't know when I've had such a grin on my face, and I'd love to run it at Lincoln! Problem is, it's a BP Corvette. Locally, we still run BP as a regional class. As nearly as I can decipher the rules, the modified floor pans and firewall make it illegal in XP, where it would otherwise more or less fit. I'm fairly sure it would be legal in E Modified, if laughably outgunned. I'm not terribly c...

1 Replies and 6831 Views Biggest C-Prepared Car Currently Running?  6831  1 Started by  WumpusXT I mean in terms of actual vehicle size what is the biggest thing running in C-Prepared that anyone is aware of I have a basically empty 1965 GM A-Body car that isn't worth restoring that I thought might make a good candidate to turn into something absolutely insane.

0 Replies and 300 Views Building a D-Modified Fiat 124 Spider - aero question  300  0 Started by  DeyemeRacing Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, I ran a 1st gen Dodge Neon in DS for one year, then straight to D-Modified, so I could do pretty much what I wanted to the car and not have to worry about jumping from class to class during the race season.  Back then there were no Street Touring and Street Mod classes, and the classing has become even more confusing since I left the scene around 2006.   I'm back now, and with a new racecar - a 2017 FIAT 124 Spider.  It has a 1.4l turbo i4...

1 Replies and 9188 Views What class would my car fit in?  9188  1 Started by  onetonsoup Hello everyone!  I am new to forum and SCCA. Before posting I did as much research as I can before posting.   Long story short, I have a unique car that I built a while back without any class in mind. I built it for me, its def not the brightest idea but I always wanted to do something radical. After many autox and HPDE events. I am just now starting to look where my car would fit in and seeing if its even competitive.  I still have much to learn but I want to find a c...

2 Replies and 21649 Views Legality of Rear Fender Flares in SM  21649  2 Started by  jaybullington I just want to confirm if I add flares like these to my S4, will I still be legal for SM  http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/07...1447130124  The only relevant discussion I've found is this, but it still leaves me scratching my head a bit since it references Prepared classes vs Modified when discussing rear fender modifications:  http://www.sccaforums.com/forums/aft/32323 I would not be removing any material from the rear quarter panel inboard of the hub face and would not mod...

5 Replies and 27069 Views Classing options for a purpose built 2000 S10 V8.  27069  5 Started by  fyrballmt Hello, been a long time since I have posted. Started racing solo in SM with a twin turbo AWD Dodge Stealth later moved into CP with a 3rd generation Camaro. Been out of autocross for the past 7 years. Would prefer to build for prepared but can't find a class that allows a V8 S10. CP would only allow a V6 in a S10. I am wondering if XP would be an option I am pretty sure it would be allowed in EM. Doubt I could ever make weight but considering I am only an average driver I guess class really doe...

0 Replies and 1382 Views Upcoming JDM-spec changes, question.  1382  0 Started by  Kanaric http://cdn.growassets.net/user_files/scca/downloads/000/018/370/16-fastrack-November-Solo.pdf1477062058 In this fast track which lists potential changes for 1/1/2018. It seems this does a couple of things. First it equalizes a Euro-spec E36 M3 with a Nissan Silvia due to the significant changes in those cars compared to the US spec. Second it seems to suggest that you can import and have a Toyota Supra RZ in this class if right-hand drive is considered to be a 'comfort and convenience' allot...

0 Replies and 1490 Views The E Mod Jeep is Down  1490  0 Started by  jdmurphy With the rod knock stopping us at the last event after many months of rebuilding and upgrading (http://www.northgeorgiawx.com/the-jeep.htmlhttp://www.northgeorgiawx.com/the-jeep.html )  and no time to fix this problem and upgrade the oiling system I have reluctantly decided to withdraw the Jeep from the Solo Nationals. 0 Replies and 1613 Views Prince SR-5 B-Mod sports racer with Yamaha R-1 power and Taylor Racing Quaife differential.  1613  0 Started by  Dan Lipperini Jr The Prince SR-5 is currently configured for B-Mod autocross / Solo II although originally built and successfully compaigned as a DSR roadrace car. It is an 80' wheelbase car, 60' overall width and is right at minimum class weight. Most all the hard work has been done. Some details remain, but it is a VERY solid car. Could be a contender Auto-X or hillclimbs or returned to wheel-to-wheel racing in P2 with some effort and upgrading. - 1989 Prince SR5 DSR (one of one) Includes homologation certi...

4 Replies and 9126 Views XP Engine Orientation  9126  4 Started by  zlalomz From the XP rules 7c. The engine orientation (transverse stays transverse and longitudinal stays longitudinal) and the engine bay location must not be changed (front-engine stays front-engine, mid-engine stays mid-engine, and rearengine stays rear-engine). Can you swap a transverse engine donor and place it longitudinal to match the race car's original longitudinal orientation Just checking though I assume the 'If it doesn't say it , you can't do' rule applies.
