0 Replies and 951 Views 1 event Avons  951  0 Started by  Vomark GY has pulled entrirely out of solo, FSAE, and several road race classes. This is probably the only tire now with compounds softer than the R25B hoosier. (2) 9 x 21 x 13 9.1' actual thread width 20.8' OD on a 10.5 inch wide rim. Moderately stiff sidewall, about like a Hoosier 7.5x20x13 or 9x20x13 A15 (soft solo compound) 12 runs on them all on 62 degree day. Great grip. Great condition. Excellent rear for some BM cars. Can also be used as a front. Reason for selling: Going to a taller fron...

0 Replies and 733 Views Newbie Questions about FI Kart Options  733  0 Started by  lancer360 I currently road race a F600 in SCCA and autocross a Lotus Elise in SS. Unfortunately I'm going to have to sell the Elise over the winter as we are looking for my daughter to start private school and I need the cash. I do have permission to use some of the money from the Elise sale to buy something for autocross and am seriously considering a kart. However after running the fuel injected F600 for a couple of years, getting a 2 stroke carbed kart doesn't really have the appeal to me. That being s...

19 Replies and 8867 Views BM National Championship car FS/Trade for street car  8867  19 Started by  tripledigits D Sports Racer - Sale or trade for street car I won't have the time for track driving for the next couple years, so have decided to sell my 1998 Omni-Fab Cheetah SR-1 race car to someone who can enjoy her. This car is the 2007 SCCA Solo National Championship car in B Modified. Open trailer included with car. Here are the details: Aluminum monocoque chassis (just like the Lotus). This is the stiffest sports racer chassis in existence, AFAIK. The car is currently a D sports because it has a Geo...

5 Replies and 2001 Views Brunton Stalker Is EM the right place for a 6.2L seven replica?  2001  5 Started by  Bonjo2 Searched turned up nothing. Just checking to see where my stalker would class at local SCCA events. 6.2 LS3 and roughly 1580lbs. I see the 3.4 and the 5.3 in EM. Not sure if 6.2 would need even more weight added. Street car, so undertired and obviously not cometetive against something prepared to the max extent of the rules. Thanks.

5 Replies and 1417 Views What tires for dmod car?  1417  5 Started by  mwolf I am planning to run a dwarf car in f mod next season. I figure d mod would have the most similar tire needs (dwarf has 13' wheels and 1250lbs). I'm wondering what the tire options are like. If there's something slightly slower that lasts way longer, I may be open to that since I need to do a lot of setup on the car which will require a lot of runs.

(Topic has multiple pages1 2 3 ... 4 )
Looks like there is a proposal on the table to reduce minimum weights for larger engines in XP (details below). While I can get behind this idea, the proposal as written raises a few questions for me.Shouldn't we have a 'shoulder' at which the slope of the minimum weight changes rather than two different slopes entirely As written, a 3L turbo RWD car would have a *lower* minimum weight than a 2.8L turbo:Old weights:2.7 FI 19562.8 FI 19843.0 FI 2040New weights:2.7 FI 19562.8 FI 19843.0 FI 1...

4 Replies and 2663 Views Real Racing Wheels Pro 6 vs. Aluminum Wide 5  2663  4 Started by  FritzSpeed I dug up an older post about wide 5's, but I'm curious if anyone would care to offer any pros or cons of using the Real Racing Aluminum Wide 5 vs. their Pro 6 3 piece wheel (or any other 3 piece wheel). I like the idea of being able to change just the rim if you damage one, and also the lower cost to change wheel width or offset. The Pro 6 and Aluminum Wide 5 both use the same materials of construction, and it seems like the weights would be very close. Is anyone in Prepared currently running wi...

1 Replies and 1334 Views New XP minimum track width rule  1334  1 Started by  FritzSpeed Does the minimum track width of 55' apply to a single axle i.e. Can I choose to run a staggered wheel/tire combo so long as one end meets the minimum I am also curious if this would be checked in impound like weight, or if a questionable car would be protested just like any other build rule. Thanks, Joe

2 Replies and 1338 Views Help me muffle my Miata  1338  2 Started by  MC52 I don't actually know that I am actually over the SCCA sound limit, if not I'm real close it. Running a 1.8 with Stahl 4-1 header. So far I have tried 2 setups: 1. a 38' long 'cherry bomb' type glass pack and 2. a Hushpower 2 muffler. Both were attached directly to the header and had a turndown at the exit. Any suggestions from you guys will be appreciated.
