Ed was a fixture in the club for many years, and his expertise in Spitfires was legendary. He helped us out allot when I was racing my GP Spitfire in the early 80's. And racing ran in the family with son Jerry and Grandson Jerry following in his footsteps. Services are today in Escondido.

2 Replies and 773 Views Question About GT-1 Fire System  773  2 Started by  RealRideRacing I'm looking to get a car from a different series to run in GT1. The car is a former Roger Mears Pikes Peak stockcar that is currently running in the American Stockcar Challenge (http://www.ascracing.com). Currently, it has a 5 AFFF Fire System but I've heard that a 10 system is required in GT1. My Safety Equipment sponsor (Bell Motorsports) doesn't offer a 10 system so before I order a new one at list price, I want to make sure that this is indeed required. I've sent for my GCR's but haven't ...

2 Replies and 899 Views Fuel Injection  899  2 Started by  FireballPhil I have a friend who just purchased an FP Limited Prep Miata. The PCS states that 'all' production cars must pass the Dielectric Content of 0.0 for fuel testing, including the Limited Prep cars. I have question for all of you GT1, GT2, & GT3 guys running fuel injection systems. Does the leaded racing fuel contaminate the injectors and the O2 sensor If so, how do you handle this situation Common sense tells me that leaded fuel will clog injectors and render an O2 sensor useless fairly quick...

9 Replies and 1131 Views Engine change rules in GT classes  1131  9 Started by  the_extreme Hi all - This is something that I have been throwing around on two posts but I wanted to direct this one specifically to the GT boards.under the current regs - you are allowed to use an engine that matches the bodies manufacture i.e. so if you run a mini it better have a mini engine in it etc etc etc.Looking at the rules for DSR where of course it doesn't matter - wouldn't this be a more logical and perhaps more cost effective approach to take Base the GT classes on capacity rather than make of...
