1 Replies and 525 Views rookie new to road racing, in need of help!!!  525  1 Started by  DaveG I am looking to race my winter/extra car, a '87 Honda Prelude si. After racing at Lime Rock with my daily driving car and seeing two cars flipped and totaled, thought this would be a good idea. So far the car is stock. I will look to modify the exhaust from the Cat. back. Do you think this car could be somewhat competitive out there (it has ~130 hp) Any advice would be great!!! What modifications (cost effective) would you recommend

3 Replies and 611 Views suspension  611  3 Started by  Rocky Which types of suspension setups do most people use Is it a simple coil-over/adj. shock setup or something much more expensive. I'm thinking about prepping an 87 rx-7 and I'm curious about how much money most people spend on suspension given that it is the biggest variable involved.

1 Replies and 523 Views corner weights  523  1 Started by  RSTPerformance We have a front wheel drive car that weighs about 2500lbs. should the weights be even diagonally or should they be biased at all. Does it matter if the track is primarily left turns or right turns. We have the capability to change these things so should this car set up change from track to track or should it just stay balanced with 50 on each diagonal. My thinking would be that if the track is primarily left hand turns and the car pushes we might be better off to change the weight so that the l...

2 Replies and 669 Views ITA/Spec RX7 LSD?  669  2 Started by  Rob Lay Just bought car and I'm learning about it and sorting it out. It was a '83, but has had a new rear end and rear disc brakes installed. I thought maybe it had LSD, but when up on stands, I turned one wheel and the other one turned also. 2 Replies and 573 Views Basic rules of ITS classification...  573  2 Started by  Rob Lay The Ferrari 355 and 360 C are in T1. I'm trying to figure out where an older stock 348 C would be able to race. It seems that IT would be the best class, but a 348 is probably too much for E36 BMW's and 2nd Gen RX7's in ITS. Are those cars common in ITS because they're easy to get or are they the best choice for ITSIf the 348 is not in ITS, don't you think a class for older T1 & T2 type cars would be good------------------ * 1983 Mazda RX7 (SCCA SRX7/ITA, SCCA CSP)* 1993 BMW 325is ...
