0 Replies and 1527 Views &39;91 Miata with 1.8L swap in ITA?  1527  0 Started by  gkmccready Dear lazy web,First, I apologise for asking rather than digging further in to the GCR. I've got a Miata I'm building for NASA PTx that is looking likely to end up with a 1.8L engine swap. ITA classifies the '90-'93 and '94-'97 cars separately. Is there a decent crossover class for an early Miata with a 1.8L swap Does it jump right to GTL or EP Or stuck in ITX/ITEThanks!glen

4 Replies and 4219 Views Holy *** what happened to my ITA car?  4219  4 Started by  spinnetti So I've been out of SCCA for a bit (but not out of road racing) and I come back to find my ITA Corolla is now an ITB car carrying over 200 freaking pounds of ballast. WTF I'm probably the last guy running this car and can't believe this! I'd rather lose in ITA than spend another $2000 in wheels and tires and carry around 220 more lbs. Can I still run ITA or is it this or nothing If I have to run ITB, Looks like I'm done.

1 Replies and 1717 Views ITA RX-7 Questions  1717  1 Started by  Projectr13b I'm just getting into racing and ITA seems like a solid class to shoot for. I'm slowly putting my car together and just want to make sure I'm doing it right so I have a few questions. 1.) Removal of items under the hood. My car came with A/C and a lot more vacuum hoses than I've left on it. Will removing any of these cause me any issues 2.) Intake options. I've seen cars that had the carb swapped, but the regulations I read said there can be no modifications to the stock engine configuration. I...

4 Replies and 2489 Views Classing of a 1987 Porsche  2489  4 Started by  dolfan I'm looking at a 1987 Porsche 944S, the car has had an engine swap for a 2.7l engine. My initial intent is to use the car for club trials then time trials before ITS, but wanted to make sure that this engine swap doesn't move the car to a different class. Based on what I see a 1989 2.5l 944 would need to make weight of 2850, but the 1989 2.7l 944 is at 2635 for weight. Not sure how this works

1 Replies and 1740 Views MAF/MAP regulation question  1740  1 Started by  flohtingPoint I'm sorting out what's needed during the winter for my Improved Touring build and I've been unable to make heads or tails of a couple parts of the rule book regarding MAF's and MAP's, it seems to be a bit muddled. D.1.4 states:&91quote&93All air entering the intake tract shall pass through the carburetor or fuel injection air inlet. All air must also pass through the stock air metering device, eg MAF, or AFM, etc if so equipped. Air intake source shall be within the confines of the engine co...

1 Replies and 1590 Views 85 RX-7 ride height for track?  1590  1 Started by  killjoy7 So I'm building a 1985 RX-7 track rat and I'm trying to figure out what is a good performance ride height for it. I have a Ground Control Coilover setup in front and eibach springs in the back I can cut (several dead coils). I don't have a trilink or panhard set up. The car has not been lowered so it's pretty much at a stock height now. the question is: what is a good ride height that lowers the car while still maintaining good suspension movement AND where do I measure ride height...

0 Replies and 1619 Views ITC class for a datsun 210??  1619  0 Started by  weasel KP61 I am wanting to eventually race in a scca race and am wondering what class to aim for with my 1980 datsun 210 for next year. My plan is to leave the engine mainly stock and gut the car, put in roll cage, fully upgrade the suspension/brakes and run dot tires. I was thinking the class I would run in would be ITC. What class would be the best/most competitive class to run with a rear wheel drive 1980 1400cc pushrod motor datsun w/~75hp and under 1700lbs In ITC there are a lot of datsun 510 gu...
