I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a 4dr 325 race car. The price is right BUT, i have no idea how much they cost to run. so i would like to know how much is the up keep on one of these cars Things like pads, rotors, tires and things like that. I'm new to racing but I have tracked my subaru enough i think i can take a step into ITS without too much of a problem. thanks!!

25 Replies and 2809 Views ITE growing class. How to expand the rules to make for close racing  2809  25 Started by  mark kibort
(Topic has multiple pages1 2 )
ITE is one of the fastest growing groups in SCCA club racing today. On the West coast, we are regularly seeing 20 entries in ITE, mixed with 5 other classes, a couple of those being ITX and Spec Miata. its a great group, not a lot of rules and surely teaches the lost art of running in highly disparate speed traffic. However, there are limits, and im seeing a limit being reached now, as some SpeedGT prepared cars start to practice at their home tracks for upcoming pro races using ITE. My...

4 Replies and 1042 Views ITA/ITS Miatas  1042  4 Started by  BadBrad 1. I see in the online IT specs that the '90-93 and the '94-95 Miatas are classed in ITA, and I see the '99's classed in ITS, but I don't see the '96-97 currently classed anywhere. Will these be classed in ITA 2. Do you think the 1.6 or 1.8 will be a better ITA car i.e., do you think the increased power and bigger brakes on the 1.8L cars will overcome the extra 175 lbs. 3. What do you think of the potential of the '99 Miata in ITS BB

2 Replies and 847 Views Race a car in both ITS and ITE on the same weekend?  847  2 Started by  Huston22 My father and I are new to club racing. We have been racing solo for about 2 years and are ready to try club. We were looking to race a 98 or newer firebird or camaro in T2 because that seemed to be the cheapest and easiest way to be able to race a relatively fast car. Recently, we have come across a 1986 porsche 944 for sale that is reasonably priced and has been competitive in ITS. Along with the obvious advantage of being able to buy the car and race without any work to build it, we wer...

0 Replies and 687 Views Question about racing steering wheel and extension  687  0 Started by  bladeszx2 I'm in the middle of slowly turning my 93 Escort GT into an ITA racer. I've been driving with a Corbeau clubman seat, with the steering column all the way down. When I'm in a comfortable driving position with the steering wheel, my legs seem to be way to close to the pedals. To remedy this I want to buy a decent racing steering wheel, and at the same time extend the steering wheel away from the pedals. Any suggestions for choice of steeering wheel, and how to extend the steering wheel away f...
