7 Replies and 851 Views Old timer Hallett stories...  851  7 Started by  Rob Lay Just heard some interesting stories about Hallett in the old days. Anyone else hear these or othersThe first was about Paul Newman and the owner having a few beers and then racing around the track at night, with no lights at 3am in the morning. The other was a race being run clockwise and having a car go off and sink to the bottom of the pond. Evidently the guy did unharnass and go to the surface.

0 Replies and 596 Views Thanks MidWest Div for great Hallett School...  596  0 Started by  Rob Lay It was a great school, my first, but a perfect experience and if most tracks are half as good as Hallett, then I'll be happy. All drivers and officials were very nice as well. However, I was surprised when the local 'Boomtown Inn' manager asked me... 'are there still a lot of blacks in Dallas.'I hope to see everyone at HP for my 2nd school and maybe the Sunday race.------------------ * 1983 Mazda RX7 (SCCA SRX7/ITA, SCCA CSP)* 1993 BMW 325is (SCCA GS, BMW CCA D)* 1986 Ferrari 328gts ...

2 Replies and 703 Views you know what would be fun....  703  2 Started by  97SSer What if we could get a fun, once a year grudge autoX pitting KC,KS,and NE regions vs.Wichita,Salina, and NEOkl. regions The site for the event could be held on neutral grounds, say..Manhattan. the winning team could be based on how many classes won. make it a weekend long, of course, have a big banquet, and make it some kind of special AutoX, like Mirrorkhana style. Just wishful thinking, but doesn't it sound fun
