Awards Party Sunday, January 7, 2018
    Wild Country in Collinsville, IL

Join us in celebrating the 2017 competition season!

Come one, come all to our annual awards party, where season-long points awards will be presented, as well as our annual awards. Who will win the Rookie, Most Improved and Driver of the Year awards? Which members will be St. Louis Region's Mechanic, Worker, and Instructor of the Year? What will be the 2017 Event of the Year? Who will take home the SPS Community Service, R.E. Award or Spirit of St. Louis honors?

The doors will open at 12:30 p.m., lunch will be served at 1 p.m., and we will present the awards beginning at 2 p.m. If you plan on joining us for the meal, the cost is $20 per person (member or non-member, children 13 and under are $10). If you prefer to join us for just the awards, the event is free. If you have any questions about the party, contact Charlene Lain. You can register online at MotorsportReg.

This year we've added a Pinewood Derby to the festivities. Impress your family, friends, and fellow partygoers with your car-building skills. Amaze them with your sense of taste and style to design the ideal table-top race car. Let your competitive fires help warm a winter's celebration!

The Boy Scouts of America will supply both the track and a Chief Steward for the event.

There is a minimum entry fee of $1, which will be a charitable donation to the Boy Scouts. Those who wish to pay with larger denominations of currency will be considered more generous, as no change will be provided.

No SCCA race would be complete without supplemental regulations - you can download the Pinewood Derbysupps here. If you have questions, contact event chair Jose Hernandez.

    Awards Party Door Prizes

The Awards Party will feature some really cool door prizes. No, it's not the drool-worthy doors you see here (full disclosure - the editor couldn't find a free-to-use image of a "door prize"). What's really up for grabs (thank you Board members!) is one FREE PDX entry, one certificate for a discount on the June Club Race entry, one FREE Solo entry, your membership dues paid for the next year by StL Region, plus a bunch of cool products and swag. But remember -- you can't win if you don't attend, so be sure to come help us celebrate the 2017 season.

If you have attendance prizes you'd like to donate or are interested in taking out an ad in the program book ($20 for a third-page, $35 for a half-page, or $50 for a full page), contact chair Charlene Lain or call her at 314 dash 941 dash 9943.

Andy, last year was the first year I believe for both PDX and Solo. Last year's were Rob Zander for PDX and Tom Sotiropoulos for Solo. All well deserved both years :)
