2 Replies and 597 Views trailer advice  597  2 Started by  04AS I'm casually looking at 5th wheel enclosed trailers in the 34 to 36' range and would like any information others have on specific brands, things to look out for, options that you can't live without, other considerations, etc.I'm currently using an open trailer, so this will be a big move up and I would like to purchase a trailer that will last a long time, tow well, and be happy with long after my purchase. That said, I'm not willing to spend more on the trailer than I have in the racecar, so F...

There is a post in the IT section that begins with 'the Secret Car Club of America.' Interesting thought, why is an organization as large as SCCA considered a secret What can be done to get the idea of SCCA amateur competition out to the public and potential sponsorsWith the start of NIRA and IDRA, there has been a huge amount of aftermarket and manufacturer support. Didn't production have that same appeal 'back in the day' What happened to it, and how do we get it back IT, production, ...

I think I have finally narrowed it down to either SS or GT but I still am not sure. I love racing so much that it really doesnt matter which class it is as long as it is national. I use to race dirt track stock car but didnt like it because it was more like a demolition dirby. I was just posting this to ask a few questions. I know I need to get a license but and I think I will ra...

So, what do you think If you could choose/vote on what is the greatest car chase action movie of all time, what would it beFor my part, modern filmography, special effects, and technology not an issue, I would still rate the movie 'Ronin,' starring Robert DeNiro, as the greatest ever. All of us, as car enthusiasts who go back that far, probably remember the movie 'Bullit,' starring Steve McQueen, as the greatest example from the 60s of early 70s. McQueen did his own driving in that movie.Howe...

In T2 when the truck bumps this little motorcycle from behind at about 90mph the bike doesn't crash! Yeah Right!!!Same movie, same chase,When the truck comes off the overpass it about breaks in half and the windshield comes out in slow motion... but.. a few seconds later it is in perfect condition frame straight windshield in tact, until Arnold shoots at it shattering it and the driver pushes it out! OK guys, you will have to forgive me for this one. I was going to be new to the SCCA events, but decided not to because of a personal conflict with some people in my area. What I am wondering is this......Some friends of mine and I used to drag race, and well soe of the people who autocross in my area looked down on us, and said it takes no talent to drive in a straight line. OK I will give you that, but I thought the whole point was to have fun, am I wrong I mean I grew up at Mid Ohio gpoing t...

11 Replies and 688 Views Solo II is the key to SCCA's future  688  11 Started by  Bill in RiverCity I've been reading the thread regarding the need to get more young people involved in SCCA. Many have hit on the point, but I thought it deserved special attention here. Solo II is the way to get young people into the sport. It costs practically nothing and takes no license or training. In Southern California I see lots of young people with their hopped up Hondas at these events. Problem is, there are too few events for the number of people who want to participate. At the events I've attend...
