7 Replies and 706 Views Kumhos--Buy Them Heat Cycled or Not?  706  7 Started by  NBM LS1 M6 Just wondering. . . I've heard both views, and I was wondering about the consensusEspecially, I am curious whether anyone has come to the conclusion that buying them heat cycled really affects the longevity of their wear life. I've heard both arguments on this one too. Some people seem to chose to 'save' the extra $15/tire and heat cycle them via a practice, etc. Others claim that following the Tirerack/Kumho website guidelines about warming them up and letting them cure overnight cannot be m...

13 Replies and 879 Views Street-tire cars running with race-tire cars  879  13 Started by  slowSER This is something I've been thinking about for our local autox club for the 2001 season:Instead of lumping together all cars with street tires into a single 'Street Tire Class,' what about using a PAX so that cars with street tires can run in regular open classes STS and STR can be used as the benchmark -- Those classes are identical except one is for street tires and one is for R-compound tires. The difference in the PAX for the two classes is .027 (.783 for STS, .810 for STR). To determin...

15 Replies and 1761 Views Did you consider vBulletin instead of UBB?  1761  15 Started by  Shaman The search in vBulletin is 100x faster than in UBB (at least) and is getting a lot more support than UBB/Opentopic. Heck, Opentopic is going to use flat 'dynamic' files. OOF!I dig this board, but you are going to run into ls1.com problems with it (big server, bad performance) eventually.I know vB intimately if you are considering such a thing. Honestly, you'll thank me for it at a later date... all the bigger UBB I know of have had to turn off their search functions and do thread cleansing re...

2 questions actually.(1) Why doesn't the registration form ask for a name Seems like the BB would like to have that info in case they need it. Also, then the username could provide a link to the person's profile. Or set up some sort of directory to link usernames to 'real' names and people's cars (since that's *really* how we all know each other).(2) Is this the proper place to post this type of question/suggestion.
