1 Replies and 1567 Views Looking to get into autocross in central Iowa  1567  1 Started by  OUTLAWS85 I'm want to get into Autocross this coming spring, I have read into the minimum safety requirements as far as tires, suspension, and having a vehicle in good condition but have some more questions. I have a 2005 Ford Mustang GT w/a 5 speed manual transmission with really low miles and is in great condition. It has the basic upgrades such as cat back exhaust, off road x-pipe, cold air intake, aftermarket ECU program. As it sits now what class would my car qualify for Also it has basic 255 35R20 ...

2 Replies and 1266 Views Hello  1266  2 Started by  falkin42 Hello. I don't normally join or post on forums but this seemed like the place I should be a member of. I don't have any racing experience or a car I'm really ready to dedicate just yet but once I pass the Bar exam and I'm able to start making real people money I plan to get a second car and begin a life of tires and oil. I suppose my first question for y'all is what car I should be looking at getting. I've had almost exclusively front drive cars in my daily driving, so I'd like to learn on a...

I was suppose to be headed down to Moultrie GA for our first event since the Nationals in the 'new' Jeep when I received this message from one of the guys that rode down with Jim. 'A neighbor found her collapsed in the front lawn saturday afternoon while we were out at Moultrie autox. She was diagnosed with bleeding on the brain but was in a semi conscious state. As of 9pm we were updated that...

3 Replies and 2123 Views How do I turn an SCCA racecar into a road legal vehicle?  2123  3 Started by  Fred_1320Video Hey guys! I'm new here, and I know you guys usually do the exact opposite of what I'm trying to do, but I figured someone on here might be able to point me in the right direction.... I have an opportunity to buy a very clean 1987 Volkswagen. Its been a track car all of it's life and the current owner has described it as 'Production Racecar' and indicated that it does not have a title (and I would assume no VIN). If I bought it, I would receive the car with a bill of sale and that's it. As much ...

1 Replies and 1654 Views Camber Bolt Guidance on 05 STI  1654  1 Started by  Katie785 I installed my Whiteline camber bolts (front) last night. I was at first going to put them in the lower strut mount, but to achieve negative camber, the directions say to have the large tab on the washing facing the hub. There is a (knuckle) bolt there that it hits and will not sit flush with the strut mount. Any pros/cons to putting the bolt in the top mount It seems it's not as adjustable then. Safety concerns Possible to just put the bolt in the lower hole, but backwards (meaning put the b...

0 Replies and 1400 Views Racing Startup Looking for Your Input  1400  0 Started by  vrume.io Hello everyone, We're a group of Carnegie Mellon students that are passionate about racing. We're also disappointed with the current race data analysis tools, resources, and services available on the market today. They're either too expensive, too difficult, or require too much time to find faster lines around the track. Rather than just accept it for what it is, we decided to create a startup called Vrume.io with the intent of providing easy to interpret reports to create faster drivers. We'd ...

0 Replies and 1326 Views Drive on San Bernardino   1326  0 Started by  raoul Hello Guys, Last September I drove on the San Bernardino Pass in Switzerland and shot a video from the bottom of my front bumper. The video captures the entire pass from south (S. Bernardino, Campeggio) to north (Grossmatta, 7438 Hinterrhein). The pass is quite tough on brakes, be gentle otherwise you might cook your brakes, just as in my case smile. If you have any questions or feedback please leave them in the comment and I should get back to you.  Here is the link to the video: htt...

0 Replies and 1090 Views Condo space at Daytona for Rolex 24  1090  0 Started by  jackgstl It's a little late notice but I booked a condo at Daytona beach (on the beach) that I can't use for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night of the Rolex 24 race weekend. I have two choices. I can pay a fee to cancel or see if there are other race fans thinking about heading down. I just have call and change the name. It's a two bedroom on the beach. The cost minus what I would lose to cancel will be around $350. Ps: I have an extra room to the 500 weekend as well but will cost about twice.
