0 Replies and 975 Views Race Car Identification  975  0 Started by  TheOneTrueScotsman I am rebuilding an old SCCA Mini Cooper race car and I'm trying to find out more about its history and previous owner. I have tried talking to the CASC as the car used to have a registration with them but they never got back to me, the number on the CASC  registration is 2 282. I am including pictures of anything that might help to identify the car. Any help would be appreciated!

4 Replies and 3615 Views New to Autocross, what car?  3615  4 Started by  MuuMuu101 Hey there. So, I'm a 23 year old who's straight out of college and want to get into Autocrossing. I live in SoCal and went to the Hotchkis autocross back in June at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana. It was a great event and I had some fun out there. I'm currently driving a stock 2011 Scion tC as my daily driver, but frankly it's not very fun on the street or during Autocross. I had traction control issues (there's no way to turn it off completely without pulling a fuse) and obviously it's not reall...

1 Replies and 2590 Views Petition to save Heartland Park  2590  1 Started by  autocrossaddict Many of you are probably seeing this on your Facebook feeds, but just incase you don't FB. Funny thing was I saw the name of my childhood neighbor from back in western Kansas signed the petition this morning. In the midwest it's facilities like these that bring the small town car people together.

5 Replies and 3192 Views tire pressure  3192  5 Started by  Tim Starting second year in autocross running in the FS with stock tires. Towards the end of the season last year I was trying to adjust pressure. I've chalked the tires and what looks good was 39/f and 36/r. This off season i've been looking around on and some say more pressure in the rear instead of the front.(40/f-45/r) Any others RWD cars owners have suggestions

0 Replies and 1138 Views SCCA Solo Racers on BBC's Mud, Sweat and Gears  1138  0 Started by  beansandrice SCCA solo racers, Rob Krider and Keith Kramer, somehow convinced the producers of the new show Mud Sweat and Gears that they should be in the first episode. With the premise of the show being get a crappy car, build it in 24 hours, and then race it in three challenges/stunts, a couple of solo racers fit the bill. The show premieres Monday January 26, 2015, on BBC America at 7:00 p.m. right after Top Gear. Media Links:

3 Replies and 2942 Views SCCA Demographic Survey is not anonymous, BTW.  2942  3 Started by  Alex Tziortzis Keep the following in mind before doing the SCCA demographic survey you may have received in your email.   1) Before you click on that link to do the SCCA survey you got in your email, know that this year, you are required to answer all questions. Not all people want to answer some of the personal ones (e.g. income, age, etc).  2)Furthermore, the survey email gives you a 'unique link'. In surveymonkey (the vendor they are using), by using the unique link, they actually collect the s...

7 Replies and 2548 Views Boring CIVIC Beginner  2548  7 Started by  WyattDelSol Hello out there! I've dreamed of making Autocross my hobby for a while now. My wife gave me the Starting Line package as a Christmas gift and I'm excited to get out there. Last year I traded in my '03 Audi A4 S-line for a run-of-the mill 2009 Honda Civic LX (I mean, this thing even has hub caps for God's sake). I wanted to avoid the staggering repair costs I was incurring with my Audi. But, what I did was completely sabotage my future in Autocross - at least I felt.  After reading some arti...

0 Replies and 2762 Views Authentic Miami Vice Ferrari Daytona replica found  2762  0 Started by  andrewnicholscnbc There's a cool story behind the 1976 Ferrari Daytona used in Miami Vice... Apparently, they couldn't use a real Ferrari at first so they remodeled a Corvette to be a Daytona replica. Halfway through the show, Ferrari gave them a real Testarossa to use, so they got rid of the replica - which was sold off and quickly disappeared. Now the folks on the TV show The Car Chasers think they have that original Daytona replica used on the show. In the episode, they try to authenticate the car...and see wh...
