4 Replies and 630 Views Suspension Issue (Help Needed)  630  4 Started by  Lehrschall Okay, I'm looking for suggestions on how to maintain my alignment for more than a single run. The front camber setting on my GTO is controlled by loosening two bolts which connect the wheel assembly to the strut. I loosen the two bolts and slam the wheel assembly over as far as possible to create 2 to 2 1/2 degrees of negative camber. I then torque the two through bolts which clamp the strut end to the wheel assembly like a sandwhich. The inside surfaces of the strut mount plates are smooth ...

1 Replies and 488 Views Car Class Placement  488  1 Started by  stallion My wife was wanting to race her 98 Honda Civic EX, but we're not sure what class it would be in. It has headers, cold-air intake, and a cat-back exhaust for perfomance upgrades. Everything else, brakes, suspension, wheels, etc are still stock.

7 Replies and 626 Views Just a little intro  626  7 Started by  SharpSuby I got to meet some of you at this last weekend's Fast Five run-off. A little background, so maybe I'll be able to offer some assistance despite my limited autocross experience. I've been an autobody mechanic for the last 4 years and while that's not a relatively long time I'm pretty good. I'm also a certified welder and a fairly decent fabricator. My last two cars have all been turbo (2002 VW GTI, 1987 Mazda RX7) and my current 2002 Subaru WRX...so I'm no stranger to forced induction ...

2 Replies and 548 Views Andy Pilrgrim says hello  548  2 Started by  VettesRule I saw Andy race at last weekend's Long Beach Gran Prix. He is still driving for Team Cadillac and doing well. He gave me a tour of the pits, the team trailer, introduced me to his team and Ron Fellows. He asked me to tell everyone back in El Paso that he sends his good wishes and hopes to get together with us again. Tune in to Speed Channel for the SCCA Pro sanctioned World Challenge GT races this season and watch Pan Am's own Andy Pilgrim as he goes for anther championship in 2006.
