Hello the name is Dan, and I am one of the organizers of the Speed Seekers Run which is an event that is non-competitive, but of great enjoyment.

We have rented out Road America which is a 4.2 mile road course located in Elkart Lake, WI.

There are no speed limits, but there is some rules.

So check out our web page www.geocities.com/Speed_Seekers

BTW you might want to include this in the Road Race section as well.

Not to pee on your Post Toasties - I like to go fast just like anyone else - that is why I road race. I have some questions:

1) Who is insuring this event?

2) DO you have adequate fire and rescue personnel there? (What do you consider adequate?)

3) Do you have no roll bar / cage requirements?

4) Tires - some people own cars that will travel in excess of 170mph at RA. Do you intend to require them to run tires that are up to the "assumed" performance potential of their cars?

5) Are you planning to inspect brakes? (Turn 5 is a heckuva place to find out that you have none)

6) Is camping at the track an option?

I am glad to see more events in my area, but at the same time I keep my fingers crossed and say a prayer that no one is injured at these track days - myself included.

I am updating the Web Site currently on just those points.
BUT, just for you here you go.
1)Road America has there own insurance (for the track only) You yourself have to have your own if your insurer will cover you. American Family will.

2)Yes, we have 1 ALS Ambulance, 1 BLS Ambulance, 2 Wreckers, 2 Fire Rescue units with 2 Attendants on each with 30 full comunication radio's.

3)There is no requirement for the roll cage, if you have one great. Remember you may drive at your own speed that you feel comfortable with, we just ask for driver curtousy.

4)Absoultly, but we do not have any speed monitoring equipment.

5)yes, been there done that, don't want to do it again. The check will be done each morning in tech, after that it is up to you yourself to monitor your own safety equipment.

6)Yes, but it is like a prison, We have a different location close to the track that everyone camped at last year. Check out Lodging Link on the main page www.geocities.com/speed_seekers after this next Sunday. We have a Meeting and the web site will be updated with locations with discounts.

Hope this answers all your questions.

Dan
We also pray for a clean safe Event.
