My wife is planning a trip to Colorado Springs this summer and has allowed (not disapproved of) towing my car. SCCAForums Image As she hasn't set the date, yet, I'm hoping to persuade her to arrange it so I might race somewhere in the area.

I have never been to any of the tracks in the area. If I could only attend one regional race (July-October) which should I attend?

How reliable is the posted race calendar?

After this weekend, we only have two different tracks that we will be racing at - Second Creek Raceway and Pueblo Motorsports Park...

SCR is a club track - short & tight, 1.7 miles and 14 turns. It can be run in the clockwise or couterclockwise direction. If you run a big car the track isn't a lot of fun - small cars have exceptionally tight racing here. Read about it here:

Pueblo is a much faster wide open circuit- 2.2 miles and 10 turns, but again it is a club track also. Everyone I have run with at Pueblo enjoys it - from a 1st gear hairpin to a 100+ mph turn, blind turns and elevation changes, it gets your attention. Read about it here:

Unfortuately there is only one date left at Pueblo, October 5/6 - a DS/R.

The schedule has been proven to be very stable for us, once the season starts. I don't believe that I have ever seen an event at SCR have a date change.

Hope you decide to come out and join us!
