    Solo II Divisional Steward

Details for the 2003 NorPac Solo II Divisional Series, sponsored by Kumho
Tires, are confirmed after initial discussion in January. The series' ninth
edition features a return to a four-event format, as Reno Region re-joins
those hosting divisional events. Round #1 will be San Francisco Region's
National Tour May 3 - 4 at Atwater, CA; Round #2 will be at Reno Region's
Stead Air Field in Reno, NV July 5 - 6; Round #3 is slated for Northwest
Region's National Tour July 26 - 27 at Bremerton, WA; and Snake River Region
hosts Round #4 August 9 - 10 in Boise, ID.

Adding the fourth event means that earning points in the series requires
competition in three of the four events. This assures that points competitors face each other in at least one of the series' four events.

For the fifth consecutive year, Kumho Tires Motorsports is the series Title
Sponsor. Motorsports Manager Rudy Consolacion says he enjoys his role
supporting autocross activities, and NorPac greatly appreciates Kumho's consistent support.

Decals promoting the 2003 series will likely be available at Round #1 as
well. The decals are intended to increase visibility and promote the series
as well as to ensure that each competitor receives a series memento. All
vehicles competing in the series should display the Divisional Series decal
in order to be eligible for series points.

For more information, please contact the Solo II Divisional Steward, Katie
Elder, at racerkatie@yahoo.com. or the respective event coordinators in each
    region

Sorry to say but it looks like Norpac Divisional #4 will be canceled due to site problems. This is the 2nd year in a row. Below is a letter from the Snake River RE.

    Scott Troyer

    ----------------------------------------------

I am sorry to announce that we have lost both the Police Proving Grounds and
our backup site for the year. The police grounds have backed out due to
terrorist training that is planned through September on a varying schedule
(which they will not give to us). Our backup site has decided they do not
want to allow us this year.

Our only alternative is to use our small sites and that just is not right
    for a Divisional.

I am getting tired of having things planned only to have things fold. Any
one want to be RE for Snake River?

Support Reno on July 4-6 and Seattle on July 25-27.

    Sorry,
    Don Miller

Only 26 peopel registered so far for the Reno Event. Where is everyone? the site is top notch and the surface is awesome. Ive been to Fontana at California Motor Speedway and the site is similar in size and has more grip from what I can tell. We need more drivers to make this a fun event.

With the #4 event getting dropped is it now best two out of three?

There are 74 registered as of now. No AS cars though and only 3 SS (Me, Kevin and Don). 5 in ASP though so there will be a few other vettes there

Yes, it should be a best 2 out of 3 now. I missed the 1st one so all I have to do to win is beat Kevin in the next 2 divisionals (Reno and Bremerton). SCCAForums Image

I'm surprised we didn't have any karts pre-register. Is hauling a kart to an event more of a pain than it's worth? (I'm looking into karting for my daughter, but maybe there's something I don't know....).

not a pain at all... many guys use a small import truck for all their hauling.
