They really cleaned up at the Kumho Challenge in Vancouver.
Of course, as expected, Ron and Karen Babb were fastest times of the day, with lots of cushion. Mike Leuty placed first or second in his class, if I’m not mistaken. I finished third (out of three, woot!) Keith Brown, Abe Douglas, Bud, and the Babbs all finished in the top ten during the regular competition.
After the first 40 were whittled down to 20, the Seattle results stood like this: 1) a Babb, 2) the other Babb, 3) Bud, 4) Abe or Keith, 5) Keith or Abe (very precise, yes).
Final championship of five were: Karen Babb, Ron Babb, Bud, Abe, some guy from Canada, and just barely edged out, Keith at #6.
Since I was denied the championship, I can at least take some consolation in that my car seemed quite popular at the event: http://www.vcmc.ca/mainpage.html
. If only I were as popular as my car…
Thank you Carol Leuty for letting me ride with you. The experience was invaluable, and made a huge difference in my performance. Also, thanks everyone (especially Abe and Keith) for your advice. I am very happy with the time I brought home – the index my car gives me pushed me down the list, but that’s a penalty I’m willing to take!
