Once again, Reno Region put on an outstanding event.

There was a little more down time this year with the DP Midget losing a wheel on course, and then some timer difficulties, but we were still finished early on Sunday (plus, there were fun runs on Saturday afternoon again).

We'll be going back next year....

On Saturday we had 112 entrants, reduced to 110 on Sunday with 2 DNS's.

The Stead Airport grandstands were open (this is where the best seats are for the Reno Air Races), so if you were not running 1st or 2nd, you could go up into the stands and get a great view of the course and 'the line'. There were at least a couple of videographers in the stands capturing at least 1 run for each driver, and the video was shown that evening at the Little Waldorf saloon, where we had a keg of beer & chickens wings & chips.

3 run groups each day, 2 in the morning, with an hour lunch break (where the course was open for walking), and 1 run group in the afternoon. The ice cream truck was a highlight for some, LOL. As was mentioned earlier, fun runs on Sat. afternoon. I got 3 fun runs, and I believe that seat time helped my driving on Sunday.

It was an invaluable opportunity for those of us in the Reno region to meet and watch some amazing drivers from the Northern Pacific region. Kevin McCormick took the top pax spot for the weekend, but so many had some awesome runs each day.
