FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
USERA Included In Neohio SCCA 12 Hours Of Nelson Ledges
DANVILLE, VA. (March 10, 2006) – The United States Endurance Racing Association announced today that they have reached an agreement with the Neohio Region SCCA where the USERA Spec Miata Endurance Championship will run as a special race group within the Neohio 12 Hours of Nelson Ledges.
"We are really looking forward to working with the Neohio race committee and Nelson Ledges management to help make the 12 Hours at Nelson Ledges a premier event in our 2006 schedule," said Ken Grammer, President of USERA. “Our teams will enjoy the program that we will be building around the 12 hour format.”
With over $175k in season long prize and contingency awards on the line, the Spec Miata Endurance Championship will offer great racing for teams and fans alike.
“Neohio is looking forward to working with USERA at our 12 Hour race this year. Many of the drivers that will be coming to us with USERA are currently or have been SCCA club drivers in the past so the cars and racing will be closely matched,” said Debbie LaFond, Regional Executive of the Neohio Region SCCA. “Neohio believes that USERA will help us to potentially work our way to the traditional 24 hour race that we have hosted in the past and look forward to hosting again in the future. We believe that this will be an interesting race and great experience for everyone involved.”
“Nelson Ledges is very excited that the USERA Series will be part of the 12 Hours of the Ledges and marks the return of professional road racing to Nelson Ledges,” said Scott Lane, General Manager of Nelson Ledges Road Course. “This event will give us the opportunity to showcase the track's improvements. Nelson Ledges is the birthplace of showroom stock 24 hour endurance racing in the United States. The combination of USERA and our regional racers should prove to be an event worth racing and worth watching.”
Space for the 12 Hours of Nelson Ledges will be limited. USERA teams are urged to enter early to secure their spot for the event.
The first event of the USERA Spec Miata Endurance Championship is a double race weekend March 24-25 at Carolina Motorsports Park. The complete schedule may be viewed at: www.usenduro.com/schedule.html
