I have searched up and down for a rules listing for the Street Tire Other class and haven't turned up with much. Does anyone know what goes and what doesn't in this class?

    Thanks,
    Al

From Dave's post on the course crit thread:

"The whole point of STO is to give the newest person a place to run. If they choose to continue, they certainly should look at finding thier real class, but the availability of STO is to ease the pain of navigating the rule book at your first event which is normally quite a problem."

It is listed in the Supplemental Regulations which can be found on stlsolo.org. I don't know them by memory. The class applies only to the St. louis region so you won't find it in the national solo rules.

    from the supps

    Classes and

    Available Car Classes

Participants in SLRSS events can enter in all National Classes. This includes Supplemental Classes (STS2 and STU) and Junior Kart classes (FJ1, FJ2, FJ3 and FJ4).

A SLRSS only class, STO (Street Touring Other) is offered in addition. This class is open to cars with any modifications legal under the 2006 SR with the following restrictions: Tires must be STS legal (tread wear of at least 140), except that there is no width limitation, and vehicles must be licensed for street use.

If you post here or on solo2.org on what your car is and mods, I'm sure the community here or on solo2 will be able to help class your car appropriately for next time. [:)] There was a Prelude owner that had her car in STO, and after talking with her briefly, told her that her mods would put her car in STS, or STSL whichever is her inkling.
