I was informed that the Solo Committee is still taking waitlist entries for the Evolution Schools in St. Lous on May 14-15, and that if they get another two Phase 1 entries, and 5 more for Phase 2, within the next week or so, they will likely be able to add an instructor and accomodate a larger school.

Go to www.myautoevents.com and sign up!

It looks like Brian Schuetz is still around (in his '01 2.5RS) and listed on the wait list for phase I. Amanda Schuetz is signed up for phase I and driving an '01 2.5RS--anyone know if Brian got married (or was married, it's been so long that I don't remember [:$])? It will be good to have Brian around again.

I think I remember Brian talking about getting his niece into autocrossing. Could be her. I don't think he was married when we saw him last, but it's been a couple of years.

I'll join the wait list for both phases.

Where do I do that at?

You need to register at www.myautoevents.com first then find the listing for the schools.

    Already done.

Question though: Is it $240 for each day or is that for both days?

That's what I thought, I just wanted to be sure.

I had to un-sign up for the 2nd day. My husband wasn't going for it.

But I am still signed up for the wait list for Day 1.

I signed up for the wait-list.

Hopefully I get in 'cause I've been meaning to do Phase I for some time now.

Hopefully you signed up after me, because when I signed up they needed two people.....so you and me would hopefully get them to open up a new section!

    YEA!

This would probably cure my complaining about not improving my driving. Only problem is that for the last couple years either one or both of the days were days that I worked. Now I wouldn't mind signing up for one day but $240 can go towards alot of diapers. [:(]

    Yea,

I feel a bit guilty myself. My youngest has been wanting a dirt bike for quite some time.....and well $240 could cover about 1/4 of that.

Oh well, if Mommy doesn't get to play some too, it makes for a grumpy mom.

I don't know how old your son is, but you could always buy him a jr kart if he's at least 7. If he's not then get a cheap dirt bike (that goes 5mph or so) and let him ride it around the yard. Phil said he had a little dirt bike and the motor had to be rebuilt every year because he rode it so much. Or a go kart--cheap fun for kids of all ages[:D]

As for a 'grumpy mom', you have a right to have hobbies too--the SCCA is very family friendly, so I'm sure if your kids can entertain themselves for a bit they'd be fine coming to solo with you (depending on age of course).

    I have two boys.... 8 and 10.

I plan on bringing them to an event soon. They were with their dad last weekend though, so they didn't get to watch me race.

They think it's cool though and I'm pretty sure they could keep themselves busy throughout the day. And they would be GREAT at helping pick up cones at the end of the event!

I need to find a Kart or bike for the little one though, he truly wants something like that. The older one likes to fish/hunt...anything like that, so for the most part he is cheaper to buy hobby stuff for.

Whoa man, aren't you older than me anyway. Besides when I get to that point I'm not gonna care, I'll just let it flow anywhere.
