Posting this locally only for awhile:
OK...I bought my kid a 92 Cabriolet that's more appropriate for her college days. (Got a screaming deal BTW!) I am unloading the Golf...I can't afford to keep it around, it's gotta go. I would prefer to see it go to someone who will autocross it.

    The good:
    87 Golf GT 1.8 8 valve motor 152 K on the clock
European exhuast header, otherwise stock drivetrain.
Body is in great shape. Absolutely no rust anywhere. A couple *very* minor pin head size dings here and there. Has been well cared for. Always clayed and waxed often. Very nice paint and overall condition.
    Coil overs
    Strut bars front and rear
    Poly bushings all around
    Nuespeed shift kit
    Competition springs/ Alignment
    Bolt in Roll cage
    4 point harnesses
    Tiny tiny steering wheel
    New front bearing pass side
    New half shafts
    New rear bearings
    New rear brake cylinders
    Trunk mounted battery
    STS legal

    The bad:
Front shocks have pretty much bit the dust. That's what was making noises in the front end...they were self destructing. Needs front shocks.
AC no worky - Don't know why...never cared.
Injectors need cleaning or replacement. Makes good power and runs strong, but occasionally will stutter and make low power when started. Turn it off and re-start and it runs strong. Never got around to doing anything about it.
A hole where the radio should be.
Has a quiet "don't PO the neighbors" exhaust on it right now. May want something a little more aggressive for AX.
Azenis tire are thead bare...gotta put new rubber on it for AX

Car has a strong Twin Cities history and has been a fixture at autocrosses for over 10 years there. It is not a top STS runner Nationally, but a great regional car that is lots of fun and easy to drive and will perform well. I have really enjoyed this car, but I refuse to let my kid drive it at college through the winter. I was going to ask a little less than I paid for it, $3,500. With the shocks gone bad, $3,000 is the asking price. Will talk with a SCCA member though. Someone step up and grab this quick!

Keep in mind that by simply slapping some 710's on this thing, you can run FSP more competitively than STS. Just a thought.
