Not having access to class rules I was wondering why most of the CSR/DSR builders of bike engined cars show Yamaha, Suzuki and/or Kawasaki powerplants and not Honda.

Because for the last few years Yamaha, Suzuki and now Kawasaki have been the winners of the HP wars.  However in the past, there have been plenty of very fast DSRs using Honda power.  Ted & Nancy James used to get something like 190HP out of a modified Honda Blackbird -- their latest car uses a modified GSXR, I believe.

The DSR rules are open enough, that if you wanted to build your own custom 4-cylinder engine, you could -- so don't let anything hold you back!

Rules are available online at http://www.scca.org/Club/Index.asp?...&x=030|057&~=
