“Rumble At The Road” – Roebling Road Confirmed for Round Six of the Inter-America’s Challenge - September 7th & 8th, 2007

June 15, 2007 - Savannah, Georgia – Round Six of The Inter-America’s Challenge Is Announced.

Thanks to the SCCA Buccaneer Region, the American GT Professional Road Racing Association announced today that Roebling Road was confirmed for September 7th & 8th, 2007, for the First Annual “Rumble At The Road” professional AGT race as the AGTRRA makes its “swing south” in search of increased GT1 team participation and renewed AGT team involvement. The SE Division is home territory to many top GT1 teams, and in an effort to gain more participation from these SE teams, AGTRRA COO Tony Febles and his crew have made plans for rounding out the 2007 season with as many races in the SE as they can fit prior to their departure for the Islands for the November races. With a focus on developing strong SCCA ties and relationships for 2008 and beyond, the 2008 race schedule is being planned now, in order to facilitate strong SE division venues being incorporated into the 2008 race calendar. Roebling Road is one of the most historic permanent road race circuits in the U.S., having first opened in 1959, it is recognized as one of the fastest and most challenging courses in the country. Roebling is a “driver’s” track with its nine distinctive turns and an over-all length of 2.02 miles – there is no better rush than accelerating out of nine onto the front straightaway and letting “those ponies hunt” – as the big bore V8’s stretch their legs and run for the checkered flag. “The AGTRRA is proud to add Roebling Road to its schedule in 2007 and we hope to make the “Rumble At The Road” and annual event” stated Febles. The AGT will be running a modified twin race format this weekend at the “rumble” – featuring practice / qualifying and a 20 lap race on Saturday with a Qualifying Session and 20 lap race on Sunday as the series drivers compete to take home the honors and valuable series points in the hunt for the series over-all championship title. So step up – strap in and get ready to rumble – as the AGT takes the track on September 7th and 8th, 2007.

The AGT heads south for the “Southern Tour” - Test Days Announced.

The AGT ‘Southern Tour” kicks off at Nashville on July 7-8 under the lights at Nashville Superspeedway followed by a trip down to Florida for “The Shoot-Out At Sebring” on August 11-12 at the infamous Sebring International Raceway to be run on the fast and furious 12 Hour Long Course. The Long Course is 3.7 miles with 17 turns. The track surface has 2.4 miles of asphalt and 1.2 miles of concrete.

The Sebring weekend will kick off with an Open Test Day on Friday, August 10, 2007 which is hosted by the track. Registration for the test day is next door to the track entrance in the lobby of the Chateau Elan Hotel. Registration for the test day will be open on Thursday 8/9 from 3 pm until 8 pm and on Friday 8/10 from 6:30 am until 3 pm – cost for the test day is $225.00 per car / driver and you must be a registered participant for the race weekend in order to test. Overnight camping is also allowed inside the race track for those of you with motorhomes and tow rigs with sleeping quarters. There area limited number of electrical hook-ups also available and the fee for the weekend will be $20.00.

Following “The Shoot-Out”, get prepared for that “Georgia On My Mind” feeling as you get ready to rumble at “The Rumble At The Road” on September 8-9 on one of the most historic tracks in the Southeast – Roebling Road Raceway outside of Savannah Georgia located in Bloomingdale opened in 1959. Today, Roebling Road is known as one of the fastest and most challenging tracks in the United States, comprised of 9 challenging and distinctive turns spread out over the 2.02 mile asphalt racing circuit. Situated on about a hundred acres, the track facilities are well kept and over night camping is allowed in the paddock area of the track with a limited number of electrical hook-ups available, there is a small fee for the weekend electrical hook-up. There are clean restrooms and showers as well as a great concession stand that serves up some pretty tasty food and drink.

The Roebling Road weekend will kick off with an Open Test Day on Friday, September 7, 2007 which will be open to all registered competitors for the weekend race event. Cost for the test day will be $150.00 per car / driver and you will be able to register at the track (cash or checks only). The track will be “hot” on test day from 8:30 am – 5 pm – for more details contact the track at 888-398-7223 ask for Kaye or Richard – they are really great folks.
