The expected growth of the GTA class will also benefit the GT-1 car counts in the near future. Some GTA cars will be entering SCCA GT-1 Nationals in 2008. Many of the GTA cars are now GT-1 compliant. Some of the cars only need the addition of factory taillights to be entered in GT-1. The GTA cars will not run the lap time of a top National GT-1 car. However, many GTA drivers have posted some very impressive lap times at racetracks across the southeast. Considering the dependability factor of a GTA car, competitors should be aquiring podium finishes at GT-1 Nationals in 2008.

I am not affiliated with the ARRC or any of the event sponsors. I am like many members of the SCCA. I am passionate about racing and I support the SCCA Club Racing venue. I will be racing a road race converted Super-Late Model circle track car in the GTA class at the ARRC. If anyone is interested in the GTA concept, please feel free to contact me or stop by my paddock at the ARRC.

Your right Lance.....I've already heard of more drivers planning to enter. This WILL be the GTA race of the year. I'm looking forward to racing with 20+ cars in the class and probally that many more in our run group. Qualifying will be all so important. Even if I was not racing this event I would be there to watch.

I believe the GTA competition will look like a Spec-Miata race......At Nashville this year the GTA class had 4 lead changes with only about six cars in the field....In Daytona's (9-07) last race of the weekend all GTA cars went 1:59.7 to 2:02.4 with seven cars......The ARRC will have 20+ cars......Holy huge pile of brown stuff .....This will be GTA RACING ![:P]

I hope it does look like the SM race... without the mid corner bump drafting. [:P]

That's the bump and run.....good for the saturday night shorttrack, not good in SCCA, except when the corner workers are not looking....or you know the corner workers.

So Lance, what corner will you be working again ? [;)]
