I know #2, #4, and #13 are all rookies. I'm sure they'll be ablle to whoop a Yaris by the end of the year [:)]

In actuality, Tovey's a cheater anyway - the Yaris isn't legal for SS [;)]

Personally, I kinda smile at this {runs away from Chambers}:

What all was modded on that Yaris? Certainly aftermarket wheels - anything else? It was actually a pretty sharp looking little car. I guess it was all the vinyl he had on it or something, but it looked pretty cool. Anyone know if this was a one time ride, or if he is going to develop this car for a particular class (STS maybe?). SS is a tough class to be a novice in - super fancy cars that require a lot of throttle control, major guts, and willingness to lose a lot of money. And I am sure none had R comps that they would really need in a car that fast. If I was driving one of those cars I would have gone all the way and implemented an idea someone made at the grid while admiring my tape job - a car condom. [:P]

Dang, Will - 4 seconds behind Brian? If I ever make the mistake of asking for a ride along with you, please deny me. I don't want to learn a lot of bad habits.[:D]

Do the math again: 3.167 behind. Even my public school math mind can see that.
I'm not worried....I know I didn't drive well, and the car is basically brand spankin' new to me. Give me a couple of events. [;)] I know my role on our team. We're gettin' Brian a trophy at Nationals this year. Period. Whatever I do is just bonus....

Also, I wouldn't expect someone in a RWD car to try to get a ride with an X class person driving a FWD car anyway. You would REALLY learn some bad habits. Like comparing apples and tangerines. [:P]

I realize that. But to look at the results without any other knowledge is funny. Imagine someone just trolling the internet and come across that bit of info. Think about the perplexed look, the salty utterances, the dis-belief. Yaris internet heads everywhere thinking their pride and joys can hang with supercars. Or the consternation of Porsche interneters at the very thought of a Yaris nipping at the tail of a 996 in any kind of competition! Or worse, the Yaris besting a Lotus! What's the world coming to.

I get 3.827, by my math (I am well versed in statistics where we learn to selectively discard and highlight data to make our point... so I'm choosing his fastest w/ cone and excluding your DNF... [8-|])

I know you will do better. We can't all be Scott Dales and jump into a new car and win the class. I hope to do better too as I was not so pleased with my performance (even Brier beat me [+o(] - oh, the humiliation... ) - but I did beat 14 people in my class [H] - that sounds pretty good (and is how I phrase it to everyone... )

So, does having a co-driver actually help Brian then? I would think this would over-heat the tires, but is there a benefit?

BTW does anyone else bore their colleagues with autocross information? I bring in my videos and make everyone watch it. I have even convinced a lady co-worker to buy a Mini Cooper and come race with us - look for her perhaps later this year.

I've got a spray bottle, so as far as heat in the tires it makes sure we keep some in the rears. The real benefit is that I think too damn much when I run by myself [:)]

BTW, runs that aren't clean don't count for anything unfortunately. Looks good on paper, but ultimately worthless. Oh how I wished that weren't true at Nationals and Divisionals last year when I coned all 3!

Statistically speaking, 85% of all statistics are made up right on the spot. And 93.35% of them are incorrect assuming a 1% sample of the actual population of Solo Nation. [:D]
    BUT....
In actual competition, where cones are +2 seconds, they = a mistake, ergo a penalty; the following is ACTUALLY true: 40.538 - 43.705 = -3.167 seconds behind. The time with a cone / DNF is actually an ANOMALY that should be ignored, not focused on.

BTW --- I really LOVE statistics, but am still mathematically "challenged" [;)]

Ask Brian if a co-driver helps. Apparently there is a benefit to having 2 heads vs. 1 attacking a course / car setup. Assuming that both driver's styles are within a tolerance of 5% of each other, statistically speaking of course. That's about all I can say about team strategy without having to kill you.

Jack's Yaris has springs, wheels, tires and an AEM intake. I saw him in Greenwood Saturday morning and suggested he bring his runabout car Sunday since it was going to be such a nice day. The Viper needs $1000 worth of front tires, so it's currently off the running list. Yes, that's just for FRONT tires!!!!!

I think Jack did quite well.

Will, if it makes you feel better, you would have been second in SMS - out of 20 cars. [:O]
