Team Pan Am Club Racers John Basler and Richard Dziak represented the Pan Am Region at the Colorado Divide Double Regional event held at La Junta Raceway, La Junta, Colorado. Pan Am Club Racer John Basler successfully attended and graduated from the SCCA Drivers School. In fact John did so well in the on track drivers school runs, that he has secured a waiver for the required second drivers school. John was able to race on Sunday June 22nd, in the big bore Open Wheel group, and brought back his first WIN...in Class FC. John was very quick on the track, and handled the 20 car field in excellent fashion. He will now focus on future races to secure his Club Racing Regional Competition License. John is now an official Club Racer. John had a fantastic experience and learned that securing a SCCA Club Racing license was not as easy as one might expect. His patience and hard work practicing with his 1993 Van Dieman FC at Arroyo Seco Raceway really helped with his driving skills. In addition, many Solo events that John won, over the years helped with his corning ability in the race on Sunday. Congratulatons John Basler.
Team Pan Am Club Racer Richard Dziak, powered his Formula F1000 for 2 more 1st place finishes ( Class FB) over the weekend. After 4 events Richard Dziak holds the lead with 48 points towards the Rocky Mountain Division Regioanl Points Championship. Richard will contimue to focus on the Championship points series, and expects to race again in Colorado in the months ahead.
It was a great weekend for the Pan Am Region and it's club racers. While our region is small, the heart and dedication that our own Team Pan Am Club Racers exhibit is one of a kind. We have a great group of club racers.
The next event for Team Pan Am Club Racers will be back at La Junta Raceway July 5th..6th..with a Doulbe National Event.
