He has been a member of the Pan Am Club Racing team for the past 4 to 5 years. Recently at Sandia Raceway in Albuquerque, NM Mark made a great showing for himself and the Pan Am Region. Mark finished 2nd in the SM group on Saturday, and on Sunday, Mark started at the end of the grid and made a fantasic 3rd place finish on Sunday. Mark Kowalski is emerging as one of the Spec Mazda Miata drivers in the RMDF Division. In addition to owning his 1991 Spec Mazda Miata race car, Mark recently acquired a 1993 Van Diemen F2000 Formula car from retired racer and former Pan Am Region member Jaime Dryden. Mark is in the process of rebuilding the car and if his Maita racing is any indication of whats ahead for the Van Diemen FC race car, Mark will be a top FC driver. His fellow Team Pan Am racers wish him well this weekend.
Team Pan Am Club Racer Jose Gerardo, who was the 2007 Driver of the Year will pilot his 2000 Van Diemen F2000 at La Junta. Jose will run once again in the SCCA runoff, where he finished with a 5th place finish last year. He ia fast driver with a fast car, and will be very competitive once again dueling it out against fellow SCCA racer from Colorado Tyler Hunter. This should be a great race. We wish Jose the best at La Junta.
