Hi everyone, my name is Michael Flynn from S.Wales in the UK.

Not sure where to post this..... I was hoping some people could help me with research on an old SCCA Rabbit race car.
"The Kamei Rabbit" (Golf in europe).
I have a historic thread here i have been putting together for some time:
    http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showth...p?t=208693

The car started off in europe looking like this:

Then it raced in the USA with Milt Minter & Bill Scott then Tony Angioletti who later raced it privately GT-3.

It got sold & passed on a few times (IMSA RS in 1982 but no info?)...it once looking like this:

Then later raced by Craig Richie then Rob Chambers GT-3 / GT-4:
    Now owned by Mike Saylor.

Anyway thanks for reading, take a look through the thread & i would be very impressed if anyone has any additional information or stories i don't have or can add anything to the history of this car.

    Thanks

    Mike

That was my favorite car! I remember seeing Angioletti run it at Lime Rock when I was just a kid and thought it was awesome. Talked with him after the races and he gave me some Kamei stickers and other stuff. Still have one of those on my bedroom door at the folks' house but that's 500 miles away now.

Also saw Angioletti run it at the Runoffs but was very unhappy to see him finish 3rd behind Tom Davies' Scirocco and someone else.

Most impressive is the fact that I remember all this many many years down the road.

thanks for that post, i will add it into my historical thread as it is nice to hear from the fans that were there at the time.

Tony posted a few times while i was on Vortex forum (posts were added into my thread) though he dissapeared again & i haven't heard from him again though the vortex forum was changing about at the time.
