There is even a Starbucks coffee bar inside the big motorcycle dealership on the way to the site !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The following is an uncompensated endorsement; OMR puts on a wonderful weekend event. Plenty of paddock and grid area, and the smooth asphalt seems to magically have good courses laid down. These guys have their stuff together and have been doing a great job with the Divs. That said, if you are looking for a martini in Neosho, your request will be met with a blank stare !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Bob. I will say that Sam's Cellar is a decent watering hole catty-corner to the Civic downtown where the Saturday evening banquet will be held:

After the engines are off for the day, things are pretty dry on campus, though. Fortunately, this is Walmart country, and they have an entire aisle of libations to get things started at the hotel. ;)

Is this a semi-secure location that we can leave our cars/trailers overnight?

Of course, we can never make any guarantees, but it's pretty darn good as far as security/access goes.

The driving pad is very discrete, set well back from campus with pasture on two sides and National Guard training woods on the other two. It's all fenced, and we lock the gates after dark.

We'd just ask that anyone with an RV park outside the gates overnight. No hookups, but tons of space.

I'll add to Jim's statement: we've got a really good Rapport with the College and Campus-Security. They know us, we know them, they're aware that some of our "rigs" are worth quite a bit, and they seem to give extra attention when we've got one of these going-on. I left the Bullitt sitting on the lot last year, and inadvertently left it unlocked with the key in the ignition: nobody bothered it.

(doesn't mean I'll do it again - that was stupid, even in small-town USA's "Camp Swampy")

It seems that, very-few outside of the College know anything about what goes on in the "back 40".

IIRC, none of the KC Rgion folks took their stuff away overnight. Probably every bit as secure as a motel parking lot. Oh .... and less work, too !!!

Attended the event last year, I am going again this year. The site is unbelievably smooth, wish it was local! The OMR crew and SCCA Divisional Administration provide a great event. Regardless of your skill level, this is an event worth attending!

    See you there.

Planning on coming, but have to wait until Monday to register in case the car/trailer needs "improvements" after Atlanta. :)

Tuesday lunchtime update: about 36 hours left to register. The weather is not looking too shabby if the forecast holds.

    - Come hungry to registration on Friday. Reliable Imports of Springfield is sponsoring deli sandwiches and such to sate your post-travel appetite.
    - We'll have some cool swag from Wildblue Communications, TireRack, and more.
    - Crowder will be grilling at lunch time, so bring a few bucks and we'll keep you fed on site.
    - Saturday evening banquet at Neosho Civic. Slick building, great food, cash bar by Sam's Cellar, and a few lucky people taking home giveaway packs.

Looking like a decent turnout so far, so don't stay home and regret it!
