I want to start doing some road racing. I want to know what class I would be in. I am trying to stay as competative as possible. If I have to remove some of my mods I will.
    TIA

    Vince:

Bone stock off the showroom floor, your car runs legally in Solo2 in SS against Corvettes and RX-7s. The stock Camaro SS doesn't run in the same class with other Z28s.

In contrast, the stock Camaro Z28 and Camaro 1LE Z28 run in F Stock.

Technically, with modifications, the next class up for your car in Solo2 is ESP.

The alternative is to run your car in a local street tire Solo2 class and keep your mods within the legal limits of that class. See the discussion started by Rocky Zamarocy elsewhere in this section of the forum about Street Tire Classes.

By "road racing", do you mean Solo II or actual regional/national, wheel-to-wheel racing? For wheel-to-wheel racing, you can run in T1 but I'm not up tp speed on the rules enough to know if your mods are acceptable. The best thing to do is contact Denver at 800-770-2055 and get a 2001 General Competition Rules (CGR for road racing) or Solo I/II Rules (SIR for Solo racing).

    Hope this helps...

    Thanx guys.
I guess a rule book would help out a lot. SCCAForums Image
There is so much to learn in so little time. I didn't even know about the street tire classes. SCCAForums Image
