Someone sent me an email about a local Chevy dealer that had 75 '09 "King Cab" trucks they needed to sell by the end of the year.

When I called them up and asked them what a Chevy "King Cab" was (after finally reaching someone that spoke English!) they said they called them "King Cabs" because of all the Ford they sold.

    OK?

On the other hand I found out what the Chevy truck month incentive is all about.

It depends on how long the truck was on the lot,
the longer it's been sitting there, the higher the incentive.

Interesting that they said that, because Ford builds the "Super Cab."

Toyota used to build the "Xtra Cab" now they build the "Access Cab."

Nissan built trucks with a "King Cab"

I did a little shopping last night just to see what's out there.

Turns out a shop that I trust is selling an '06 F150 Lariat for a friend who's going through a divorce.

    Nice truck,
4x4, all options went for $42k new, 43k on it for $19k.

Now do I get a older car with everything on it, or for about the same get a new truck, with a lot less on it?

    Decisions, decisions

I hit a Chevy dealer last night that of my club members has been dealing with for years. I really just wanted to check out one of the Work Trucks and see just how spartan they are.

Surprisingly there not spartan at all. I kinda liked the rubber floor instead of a rug, be perfect for cleaning up after a day at the track, or taking it off road. I used to have a Class II license, and like trucks, well that are trucks.

They run about $22-26k after the rebates. The extended cabs cost more, but you get more of a rebate, so that will add about $1,500. Which I think I'd appreciate having if I go on another out of state contract. Buzz windows and doors will run another grand or so.

But, I really do like the looks of those 2004–2008 F-150's.
If they didn't change the grill on the '09's they'd be on the list.

    Bought one last night, $23k

6 liter, 6sp auto, 3/4 ton, 4x4 can easily haul my car to the track, 10,200lb towing capacity.

Needless to say the Corvette is now officially a toy :)

Congrats! Buying new stuff is great therapy. [;)]

PS Why did you pass on an extended cab?

    Higher tow cap, shorter length

can't get the plowing prep on an extended cab

But it was really the good deal I got on it.

Here's one to add now that I'm driving it to work

It actually fits in a regular parking space.

Which where I work is a really good thing!
