Registration is now open at www.msreg.us/nyr2012-1.

Remember, Street Prepared and Street Modified classes are no longer a single Indexed class. Street Modifed classes along with the Prepared and Modified classes are now a single indexed class(Builder).

There is a 2nd Stock class for those wishing to compete on street tires of treadwear of 140 and greater.

We will be going to an assigned grid for 6 heats if attendance warrants. You will drive twice, work twice. There will be initial timing sheets and grid sheets posted before the drivers meeting. On the grid sheets, you will see your grid spot #, your car #, and work assignment/heat. We will be changing workers on the fly near the end of the heats, please do not keep your fellow drivers waiting while we have to find you.

We are still a go for Sunday. bring your rain coats or make sure your rain dance works for 8AM-4PM.

Also dress appropriately. Rain gear would be great. Waterproof jacket, some footwear that you don't mind being in the wet when in a work assignment. change of clothes, a towel...

    ...scuba flippers? :-)

Amazing how we in NYR can cure a multi-month drought in one day just by holding an autocross. Instead of safety stewards, perhaps we need lifeguards?????

I had my rain suit, Gust-Buster umbrella, a towel to dry my feet, a spare set of socks and a spare set of shoes to drive home dry.
Autocross is awesome driver training: on the way home, a truck decided to go sideways on the LIE and get collected by a SUV causing some crazy evasive maneuvering in the Mazda 2 (no e-brake this time just lots of ABS and ATC). The bad part is that he decided to bolt and your truly chased him down and held him for Nassau County's Finest. That delayed my arrival home by half an hour. It sucked because I made it safely through the spinning cars and was the first one clear through the sliding road-block meaning that if would have stopped I could have sailed home solo.

This after pulling a screw out of one of my front tires before the autocross event and plugging the tire.

While cold and with wet feet, I had a blast, even with the end of day event.

I still can't believe you guys cut the event short while the Motorcycle school folks were still out there suffering and they did not have cars to warm up in like we did.

NYR Rocks! Swimkhana II took place on 4-22-2012 and I was there!!!

As much as I would like to agree with Joe, I don't want his 57's to count :)

Runs are runs. Just the luck of the draw. Give the folks that missed the PM runs a discount at the next event, say 50% off.

Also for points the classes that did get a full 8 runs should get their correct points.

Put up a few vids up from the event. Fun time even with the rain.

    http://youtu.be/qIevihv9Qa4 - 58.1

    http://youtu.be/RVXNo4_fC4Y - 57.1+3

Can I be moved into a class where there were other drivers? :)

C'mon Joe! With the extra 25+ instructor runs you get, you better get FTD at every event! ;)

Damn, street tire will be crazy this year. 2-7 were all within 1 second!

Looks like I need more seat time. Maybe I should get to work early and slalom through support beams in the parking garage. Or - what does it take to be an instructor and have more runs like Joe?

    Nice videos, Jeff.

Man O man lots of hate going on haha. You guys do know that Joes S2000 is fully built and pretty much the main reason I did so well. As for the instructor runs I did 4 but all were in stock cars and I knew the course at that time so doesnt really help much if any. You guys are all more then welcome to do ride alongs to see the course hell you can even come with me just ask.

Also this year I am without a car and wong is not letting me use it again so no worries. BUT I do plan to ask the rest of you ST guys for co drives haha.
