As some of you may know I have been building a Fiero to race in the Chumpcar endurance series. Unfortunately, one of my team members had to drop out and will not be racing. Therefore, I have an open seat for the upcoming race at Michigan International Speedway. The race takes place on August 25 & 26 with tech on the 24th. Each day will be a 7 hour race so ~1:40 of race time, each day, depending on how the car holds up. Full fire gear is required. The cost to run will be $700 to cover entry fees, gas (race & tow), tires, spare parts, brakes, etc. If you have not run with Chump this year it is $50 for a license and another $25 for a novice school if you do not have recent wheel to wheel experience. The current team members are myself, CJ Carter, & Scott Wright (lives in KY and runs some Columbus events).
About the car:
1987 Pontiac Fiero
Stock 2.8L replaced with a 3.4L out of a 1995 Firebird
The engine has been torn down to the bare block, cleaned, and rebuilt. Heads have also been rebuilt.
Upgraded to Pontiac Grand-Am brakes on all corners
Cage fabbed by Michael Leveque
Kirkey racing seat w 6 point harness
And almost enough spares to build a 2nd Fiero
