Class and Insdex Results from today's autocross at Family Arena have been posted to the Region's Solo website: http://stlsolo.org/2012results. I'll try to get points updated in the next day or so.
Yes, Brandon, I straightened out your runs and Ernie Snodgrass has been killed. Now, I just wish John Powell had given me the AC adapter for the computer. I don't think this thing will run on the internal battery for much longer.

Here is my video of my FTD run (39.1)
The mid-high 38 was there, I just didn't pull it together on one run. I slid around in the second slalom quite a but compared to my earlier run (.2 lost) and another .2 in the chicago box.

Congratulations to Adam Deffenbaugh on winning PAX and Pro. Great driving!
Andy really threw down some blistering runs after getting used to the car. John P just keeps getting faster and faster and Dean really did well today as did Tom DeYoung.
Fun, fast course ( rev limiter in 3rd! ), I liked almost everything about it......although I'm not a fan of the Petersen sp? cone. Great job course designers!

I'd like to thank Bob and Kevin Keller for letting me use their tools and Chad Berche for helping me retrieve my shock adjuster. That debacle really took me out of my game and I never quite recovered. I'm a bit of a head case it seems. I beat myself today.
Awesome job by Adam, I knew your time was coming.

Thanks guys! Yeah, the car did alright today for a daily driven beater. Super course, lots of fun and fast!!! Maybe the "H" in HS really does stand for horsepower? :D |

Well I really stunk it up today. I was in 3rd heat and DNF'ed my 1st and only dry run. I eventually coned away a 42.5, but had to settle for this 44.215.

Sunday was only the second time for me in the rain and 1st time on R-comps on a wet surface. The new engine is tough to hook up when wet. I drove lousy and only managed to eek out the win in XP by .07 seconds due to me hitting cones on my faster laps. It was fun to watch Andy blast that back straight on the limiter. After watching him I tried the same thing and was able to hit the limiter on 2 laps.
Here is run #5 as it was just drying out. Skip to 1:00 as my editor is having issues:

Nice drive Adam, we just couldn't keep up with ya. Great fun, fast course. Love everything but the Peterson cone.... for whatever reason that just kept me hesitant entering, through the sweeper.
Here are Tom and my best Vids from Sunday. Great course, just wish my car handled the bumps coming out of the sweeper a bit better.... I just couldn't stay on the throttle coming out of the sweeper:
My best:

I love the comparison video, John. It seemed to me, that Tom made up time in the sweeper and pushed the car harder on the final turn. Was he accelerating all the way through the Peterson box? Either way, you guys are both phenomenal drivers! |

Thanks, it's actually been very helpful to catch Tom.... Though I think it helps him a little also ;) If you look at the Peru vid, you can see I was actually faster than Tom everywhere on course until the slaloms; where Tom slaughtered me. So that's what I'm working on now, till I can slalom like Tom.
In the vid - you can see i'm a little quicker off the line, and we are even going out of the first slalom. I slowed a little too much for the left going into the next slalom and Tom was a bit ahead going in and pulled a bit away in the slalom (watch his hands in the slalom, you can see I'm not as confident in my motions). The you are right, I couldn't get the Peterson box down and was lifting - Tom was flat out. That's why I was downshifting at the exit trying to take a tighter line since I was slower. After that I think we were identical.

You guys need to try some kind of Data Acquisition after nationals. It will narrow down those areas very precisely and you can see which is faster, which will make both of you faster.
(not a sales pitch, BTW, I just know how much it has helped me to compare to other drivers.)

My Dad came out and shot some pictures again for Event 8. You will probably have to be signed into facebook to view the album. He's been uploading pictures as he edits and cleans them up. I believe he said he took over 600 shots. So, there are more than he can process. If you ran in Heat 2 or 3 send your class/number and he'll clean up any pictures of your car and have the high res versions sent to you. Don't worry about $$, he does it for fun and any pictures you want are free.
Looks like I was getting both inside tires off the ground coming out of the sweeper.

I do want to get D.A.... but the pricing for the stuff I want is a bit too much for me right now. Hopefully next year. |
